    Why so many dislikes?. People Are stupid. You layered those stems perfectly. I've owned an S4, s5, S8 , X1 and D2s so im very familiar with traktor gear. You really dig in there with the functions minus the over use of the effects. Good job bro!

    muchos critican lo fácil de tu forma de mezclar, pero cuales quiera que sea la metodología y/o tecnología que se usa, el 70% de un dj es elegir perfectamente los track lists y armonizar, lo demás es el sello de cada uno y tu 70% es muy bueno. Congrats !

    I'm trying to set my D2's up to the same mixer but it won't work both controllers are coming through the same channel. Would I be able to set up a 1210 on this set up aswell?

    Thanks for the video. How do you control the gain for the sound card input on the 23C? Can you do via hardware or just via software within Traktor?

    great man, good mix. I will think buy d2 + xone k2. What do you thing for that?

    • @PaulEnderson
      @PaulEnderson  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, I've never used a K2 so it's hard to say. I've always disliked having to look at a laptop screen so having 2 D2s means I can keep the laptop under the desk and use the D2s screens to cue up tracks etc. I'm not sure what the workflow would be like with just a single D2. My feeling is that it may be a bit clumsy and not fully utilise the D2s features but I could be wrong..

      +Daniel Martínez Reina I think 2xD2+1xK2 setup would be awesome! The K2 can be mapped in traktor as a 4-channel mixer. this would be an awesome portable 4 channel rig.

    Nice man, glad to hear another DJ mixing stems! Now we just need more STEMS available, selection is so small right now.

    • @PaulEnderson
      @PaulEnderson  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. Yes, it's early days so the number of tracks is limited. I'm just hoping that the incentives for producers to release tracks as STEMs is high enough that it takes off..

    • @baerlinn8145
      @baerlinn8145 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Paul Enderson www.stems-music.com/de/stem-creator-tool-de/ this may be interesting for you. There is a Software to create your own Stems by just dragging 4 elements of a song you would like to play in the program to convert them into Stems.
      If you`re producing music by yourself it`s a great way to get maybe your own drums, bassline or whatever into your mix to personalize it.

      +BAER LINN Thanks. I'd seen the creator tool on NI's website before. I'm not producing yet but hopefully will in the future.

    Heat man!!! also is it possible to use different stems from different artists at the same time?? so a bass line from artist A,a lead from another etc?

    • @PaulEnderson
      @PaulEnderson  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, but each track will take up one virtual deck, so your new "track" will be taking up 2 virtual decks i.e the baseline from one track on one virtual deck and the vocals on the other virtual deck. If you wan to mix this new tack with another track you will need 2 D2s to be able to load up a 3rd and 4th deck. Hope that makes sense.

  • @Ojoe1310
    @Ojoe1310 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Dude this is amazing mind blown,one question though can a person still use the D2's to Dj as normal without using stems?? i want to get them but still be able to Dj as i would with traktor until i get into it. :)

    • @ShonStarr
      @ShonStarr 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      YO! Tom I have the exact same setup... The Xone 23C has a built in soundcard and is connected by usb... All you do is select it as your audio device in Traktor preferences and then select what decks you want to use for channels 1 and 2... No additional interface is needed.

      Hi again Paul, i use the S2 and im thinking to buy a D2 (only one), do you mind i ask what is your opinion?

    • @PaulEnderson
      @PaulEnderson  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Francisco Heredia Fast empire - spirit catcher

    • @PaulEnderson
      @PaulEnderson  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Francisco Heredia Well it depends on what you are trying to get out of it really.
      Everyone has different tastes in how they like to perform etc. I chose 2 D2s because I wanted two LCDs and not have to look at a laptop, I wanted to be able to use a standalone mixer (that I can upgrade later) and the D2s are easier to transport (compared to an S8 for example).
      So you need to ask yourself what are you ultimately trying to achieve? Are you getting a D2 just to add stems? If so, then you can do the same with an F1 for cheaper. Is it the LCD screen you want? If so, then just having one D2 will probably be frustrating as you will probably still want to use a laptop screen to cue up tracks. Do you want jog wheels? etc etc etc... there are lots of questions that you have to ask... And I cant really answer them..
      If you have a look at +Isaac Sunkes channel he uses an S2 and two F1s so it may be worth asking him for an opinion, however, like I said, it's a personal choice over what you like the most so you will probably get a different answer from each person you ask.

    • @masterninja9716
      @masterninja9716 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Native Insruments has some you can download- tho it seems that Ean hinted that they're working on an open source stem extraction software!!!! If that's true- omg!!!! But I don't honestly know of anyone will do this- as its gonna be seen as rude- theft of another's music...

      @RockstahRolln 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Katy Lunger Tell me about it... I have the first version, the S4... Huge lesson learned: WAIT for 2 years until a newer, better and refined version comes out. I have the same issue now with Maschine Mk 1 as well.

    • @masterninja9716
      @masterninja9716 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +RockstahRolln see- I also started with the S4- now I realize after further research what I REALLY actually need is the new Maschine Studio. It's also a tidy $700 cheaper!!!

    • @masterninja9716
      @masterninja9716 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +RockstahRolln I also started out with an S4, then saw this S8 and fell in love- but luckily I came to my senses last night and realized what I really want is the machine studio for the 999. That saves me over sevenhundred bucks

    I use Fl studio and layer my track like a stem set up, been doing it for years.

    • @HiLoMusic
      @HiLoMusic 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm pretty sure everyone layers on fl, or any DAW for that matter.

    • @anaphylastiks
      @anaphylastiks 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi & Lo Sorry I did not explain my self properly. I make my tracks so I can perform them live, by having drums ,perc,synth,bass etc all separate with seperate effects for each and volume control for each.
      Maybe that is how others make their tracks too but I just thought it was like the stem set up.

    • @HiLoMusic
      @HiLoMusic 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's like all producers :) But playing them live in fl? or are you exporting them all individually?

    • @anaphylastiks
      @anaphylastiks 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Both

    • @anaphylastiks
      @anaphylastiks 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I prefer to not export them all, because each synth and sample can be manipulated live, instead of just applying effects to an exported file.
      Fl studio users can be sent the FLP track with samples, and if they have the same synths can mess with my tracks real time.

    painfully boring to watch but a simple demo of what is un-inspiringly possible with this hardware. you could branch out and mix some tracks. you are playing with stems for crap sakes so make some shit. this is just mixing with too much control for the short sighted. Thanks for sharing tho.

    Other than a filter effect I really don't know what he is using this D2 for. More technology wasted here than an average college student with spell check. Anyone out there who knows how to mix will agree this is the biggest waste of technology ever. We could do the same mix with 25 year old dj equipment, haha

    • @tulangdinreed1201
      @tulangdinreed1201 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      haha, you sound jelly bro, haha. I think saying that this is the biggest wast of technology ever is a slight overstatement. haha. That's a cool story about the past, tell me again how you could - on the fly - remove a complete vocal or baseline from a track while djing 25 years ago.. I'd love to hear that story. I understand that your job working at mcdonalds must cause you frustration because you can't afford DJ equipment, but that's no reason to lash out on the internet. Just make sure you ask your supervisor for some extra overtime and if you mop those floors hard enough then one day you might be able to afford a dj app for your phone. take it easy son. P.S. the filtering is done on the mixer, not the D2, so you may want to check yourself before you wreck yourself.

    • @verapamil07
      @verapamil07 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, you obviously couldn't do it with the 25 years old equipment, You simply didn't have an easy way to have clean separate 4 channels

    The bpm is just constantly the same,you aren’t doing anything that requires skill or talent
