Finally a Spurs content creator who knows how massive this is. Imagine Levy did not pay the 65m everybody would be slagging him off. Come one lads this only makes us stronger ! Looks like Richy is staying as well so boy we will have options with more games next season.
He's a player who had a good season at a club that doesn't have the quality of supply that we do. I'm really intrigued with what Ange can get out of these players in the squad. We are going to have decent competition for places and Ange won't have to run players into the ground. He can rotate and have sensible 60 minute subs with fresh legs. Lets get behind the boys for Leicester. COYS!!
I think this is a great signing with the physicality he has and willing running to keep our forward momentum in attacks we won't be on the back foot as much especially in counter attacks.
The reason Solanke played well last season was due to the system Bournemouth implemented under their new coach. Since Spurs adopted a similar approach, I’m optimistic that Solanke will perform well for us too.
From a United fan POV, Solanke is an okay signing but I must admit, 1 season is not enough to even justify £50M for me. Before last season he got 6 PL goals and yes you could argue he is peaking now but he’s going to now need to adapt to new teammates & manager. He’s 27 in a few months and therefore, 28 next year. Seems like if he has a average/bad season, there’s not much juice left until he hits 30+ which is when players of his quality start to fade. Overall though, I really like your defence. I’de take Porro, Romero, VdV, Udogie and the GK all at my club 😂So yeah, I rate other parts of your team but I don’t really rate Solanke. I think Toney would have been similar age but far less cost since he has 1 year left and tbh if you add another £20-30M you could have concinced Napoli to sell you Osimhen
Osimhen is also injury prone, wouldn't join Spurs most likely and has some technical deficiencies. Osimhen is also not worth £100m IMO but I also agree with prices for strikers in gen. The price isnt something I agree with Solanke too but im happy to have him at spurs
Solanke had a great last season and will suit our attacking strategy. Didn’t really watch him play enough to form an opinion but his stats are good. I feel OK about it but not overjoyed. However, I’ve been more concerned with our defensive frailties. We shipped too many goals and performed badly against the top teams. A high line with only one fast defender is really asking for trouble. On Johnson, I think last season was a learning exercise. This will be the season to determine his worth. I didn’t want us to buy him but you can see that something is there so this season I expect better things.
I honestly think DS will do well for us and bag a good few goals, probably more than last season with the better standard of player's surrounding him now .
Hey Tobs, Given that players in Ange's teams tend to improve, (look at Destiny, vdv, sarr etc) chances are that he will also improve. He has the right footballing qualities, but also from what I've see, is hard working, has a point to prove and seems pretty humble. I think he may be great for us! Cant wait for the start of the season.
I am new to your channel and just subscribed. I am happy with this signing. But we still need a winger cdm and cover for lb . I am glad we didn't get neto tho . He's a good player but he is out to much great video coys
High risk and high price but I agree with you in terms of what he can offer for the team plus also bring from an individual standpoint. Let’s try to make a good RW signing to push on and improve the attack and see what the manager can show these are his guys!
Did hear someone say they’ve heard levy does seem to sign players late on so he can save money in wages over the summer or the January window. Doesn’t sound too far fetched to me if I’m honest! COYS
Ange wouldn't just be buying him for the sake of it. I think Ange definitely feels he's the right fit. He's young and English and I think he will be good under Ange
I think if we didn't get werner back, and waste on Richarlison, Spurs fans wouldn't be so negative about this signing, and would be more optimistic like you. I think us fans as well don't really realise how inflated the market generally is for strikers as its hard to find a consistent/top striker. I wouldn't mind if we sold Richarlison, and got Toney in, and had both Toney and Solanke, along with a RW and a CDM. But so far pretty disappointed with the window, Solanke is a risky one, if last season was a one off good season, we're in trouble. The only positives I can take from it is he has a much better touch/quality on the ball than Richarlison and son when he plays up top, so in that sense, its an upgrade for us and we should be able to look after the ball up there a lot better... As that was one of our biggest issues, we always gave the ball straight back once it got to Son/BJ/Richarlison...
Im optimistic about this signing but I echo most spurs fans' thoughts on our window generally. We've not done enough imo and whilst Solanke alone isnt enough of an injection into our attack, he definitely improves us
even though i rate neto highly prioritising solanke who covers a position we've been crying out for since kane left shows that we're actually doing something, now get me at least a winger or 2 and we should be fine
Still feel we’ve got our knickers pulled down, english tax or not. Let’s hope it works out this time. Expensive players and Spurs has never ended well. 😏🙄
If spurs persist with inverted wingers then Solanki will be the same as Soldaldo , wingers cutting inside instead of hitting the byline and crossing is just not going to work for this striker but will spurs learn from their mistake with Soldado I doubt it
Tobs ur taking the piss man in no way shape or form is Dominic Solanke ”serious business” serious business would’ve been if we swooped in for the likes of Julian Alvarez at elite clubs like Man City, not Solanke who’s had his best season ever after like almost 10 years as a pro footballer in a top league…
