    Now I can breathe again. I was so antsy to see this at the end I did skip forward a tiny bit, I couldn't stand the tension. Wow, That was fantastic. If anyone breaks that thing I'd go into tears.

    Maybe I missed it, but I would really like to see the finished piece. I think you're supposed to be able to go to Corning's website and find pictures, but for the life of me, I couldn't find the glass bumpershoot of this video. After watching a fascinating hour and a half video, having the payoff of seeing the finished piece would be great.

    Delicate beautiful carapace, although the slight pattern irregularity in one point of the umbrella drew my eye all the time, the handle was a bit thick and dark, but probably need it to hold the weight of the glass in the umbrella. Insanely skilled, beautiful work, so hard, a real work of Art. Museum piece.

    I notice a lot that they follow the artists movements with a large paddle, what's the point of that? Is it just shielding from spatter or sparks? Around the 1hr mark they start doing it a lot.

    • @scottreasoner6126
      @scottreasoner6126 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They use the paddle to deflect the heat away from the arm or hand.

    The narrative is nice but this needs to be more like tennis because I’ve yet to hear the sound of the torch or the furnace or any of the tools on the glass or the glass rolling on the table or the team when they do talk to each other that’s all part of the process but anyway not complaining I like watching the process just wish I could hear more that makes the process easier to absorb y’all definitely do very nice work

  • @zigwil153
    @zigwil153 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    A justifiable Debbie Downer: An hour, thirty seven, and one screen capture of the finished piece?? There should be at least a couple of minutes of slow motion showing the piece beautifully displayed. It's like watching frame-off restoration of ultra rare car, and they end it with the clearcoat being applied in a booth. WTF?

  • @dmd2652
    @dmd2652 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why no time showing the finished piece at the end i watched an 1:30 and you take 10 seconds to show the finished product comon man
