This will be last vlog for a little while. Just taking a break for a few weeks to get re-freshed for hopefully some better vlogs in the future. Let me know what/ where you'd like to see in the future. Might totally mix things up or I might continue the story I'm already telling. Thanks for all the love and make sure you're subscribed with the notifications switched on, so you know when I'm back. Much love xXx
As a child in the 70’s , I remember walking along the road beside ‘Little Venice’ and looking in a window of 1 of those beautiful houses. It was winter, a few days before Christmas and what caught my attention was the most beautiful sight of a dining room situated at the front of the house, all set up for a Christmas dinner . There was a long dining room table with a beautiful long, white table cloth, crystal glasses, porcelain table ware and silver cutlery. There was a fireplace and a huge Christmas tree! It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen! It was especially beautiful, because in those days London was pretty drab. There was a big divide between rich and poor, there were strikes for everything, rubbish piled the streets, electricity strikes left us sitting in the dark and cold of an evening and IRA bomb threats everywhere you went. The good old days….😊
We have load shedding at the moment here In South Africa, meaning no electricity for 2 hours, every 6 hours , so husband and I are sitting in the dark watching your vid. ❤
SA has had it on and off since 2007. So many years. But got progressively worse over the last 4 years. So we have it every day, some areas up to 4 hours at a time other, like in my area is two hours at a time but happens every 6 hours. But south Africans are adaptable and relisliant. As long as I can make a pot of tea and watch you tube I'm OK. But it has unfortunately crippled our beautiful country.
@@bethb7965 yes, here in Port Elizabeth, it goes off for two hours every 6 hours, staggered by suburb. And I work in the next suburb up, so sometime means from when I get up, until 10 tea at the office, we will. Have no power
Another fun fact regarding the Black Country; it’s where Tolkien (who grew up in nearby Birmingham) got the inspiration from to create the land of Mordor. Dudley’s black polluted skies were the perfect backdrop for Middle-earth’s most evil setting. Dudley is also famed for having more canals than Venice and being home to the worlds largest teapot.

You don't have to be expert on the history of these boats. I'm just happy you showing london through your eyes. Never be to hard on yourself. Have a fab break & hope you can show us the best pubs & Rooftop bars in london in amongst the other stuff you have been doing. Best wishes 🙏
I lived in London twice and I have still never been to Little Venice... I swear this city had a million secrets and it's true, how could you ever be bored of it while there is still life left in you?? Great vlog!
Hannah, my wife and I in New York love your videos and this is another great one! Little Venice is one of our favorite areas. You really bring London to life in so much detail. We really look forward to your future videos and will definitely have some suggestions of places we'd like to see.
One of the best summers of my childhood, was spent piloting a narrowboat along the Avon River with my family. It was delightful fun going through the locks, stopping at various pubs along the route for a good Ploughman’s Lunch, or having Afternoon Tea along the banks. Little Venice seems quite nice as well! How lucky you are to have access to such a wonderful neighborhood. All the best from Los Angeles! Keep making videos, we enjoy them a great deal. 🇬🇧🇺🇸 🙂👍🏻
Ah, what an amazing vlog to start your holiday with. Hannah, I know you are very conscious about the duration of the vlogs, but I could have watched another 30 mins of this. It's seriously awesome!! Enjoy your time away from us. You shall be missed. Just keep doing exactly what you do... or what you enjoy! You're clearly doing something so incredibly right with 112K subscribers! Stay safe and love xx
A HUGE thank you @HannahRicketts for your dedication to bring us the best content every week. Wishing you a harmonious break. You definitely deserve it 🤗
What an amazing vlog Hannah! All this area of London is really very beautiful. It's so cool to see so many people and cool boats. I didn´t know this canal had so many boats sailing in there, I thought the majority of them were just boats 🛥transformed into houses and restaurants. Have a wonderful break for relaxing 😎, you really deserve it! Happy FriYay to you!!! 😀🌹🏵🌸🌻🌷
I started watching your vlogs during lockdown - got totally fascinated by all the Disney ones - but my favourites were the lockdown walks around London, so this looks quite familiar! So lovely to see how it’s come back to life. (By the way, the Black Country Museum is a really brilliant day out!). Hope you have a good rest - we’ll miss you though! xx
We love your content. Keep it up. We will be in London in September and much of our itinerary is based on things we have seen in your vlogs. All the best. Brett and Michaela from Gisborne Australia
I am utterly charmed by the narrow boats and this scenery. I have been here on your channel since before the lockdown. I remember your lockdown walks well. How wonderful to see this area busy and bustling with people again. You have brought us such joy. Have a wonderful break. Bless you.
I saved watching this video for Sunday morning and it was worth the wait. What a super fun video!! Hi Hannah, Thanks for this wonderful, fun, flog by Maida Vale, Little Venice and into Paddington Basin. It has such great memories for us because we were involved in a campaign to save the Paddington Basin from being filled in and built over! We are so pleased we were successful and to se it now on your lovely vlog being used in such a lovely, fun way so that people of all ages can enjoy being there for years to come. Hi Hannah, wonderful vlog...so relaxing! You will certainly be missed, but it's so understandable that you need a break! Have a wonderful break! Look forward to your return. Hi from Vancouver Washington. You have done great work. I will visit London because of what you have shared each week. Thank you for making time to show your beautiful places and I look forward to your return. ❤
Hannah you are always so spot on. I love to have your vlogs just playing as a background to my day. You always provide useful bits of insight. My son likes you so much. He thinks you are one of top 5 vloggers in the world. For myself you are #1. Best from Florida

Hi Hannah, I'm going to miss my Saturday morning breakfasts watching your vlogs. Don't be away too long as we will all miss you, I was in London last week and had a wonderful time especially at Camden & Notting Hill. Looking forward to your return have a nice break take care x
My husband found your channel when he was planning our trip to London and Paris last year. We watch a lot of ‘walk around’ videos and take a break from those for your wonderful tours and delightful commentary. Your personality is bright and infectious. We JUST noticed you post Fridays and we’re looking forward to this week when we noticed in the chat you were taking a break! This looks like so much fun! I loved seeing those doctor who stamps ❤ Another fantastic tour vlog Hannah!!✨🥰✨ what a difference it looks since your lockdown videos
Fab video, Hannah. Don't stress about the pictures. All looks great, as usual. You queried: river house = lock keeper's cottage. Barge freight = yes, freight is correct. Crepe or crape? = there's no 'a' in crepe. You're welcome.
Hannah I follow a lot of you tube narrowboat vlogs - Cruising the Cut, Weir on the Move, Robbie Cummings , Country House Gent and it seems a great life. Foxes Afloat included the build of their new boat and it was just fabulous. Minimal List have just outfitted their boat after cruising the entire network over the last few years it has been extraordinary. Some of the those boats look really comfortable and it is called 'canal time' you learn to slow down and appreciate your surroundings/life. Your vlog was so entertaining because you were having a good time and I would love to go to the festival one year if I ever get to the UK. Thank you for sharing.
Ah, all familiar names! 😁 Also worth subscribing to, Holly the Cafe Boat, they are even raising their toddler on board. And a number of other narrowboaters are likewise worth the time. And the stories of the people, such as Michael and Jo of Minimal List are also interesting.
What a vlog to end on. Will miss you on your down time, but everyone needs it. Enjoy, refresh. Will wait with batted breath.See you soon.Donna from North Carolina.
Great video, Hannah, much enjoyed! How lucky are you to live in that part of London, with all that on your doorstep! I live "oop north" now, but used to live in the Kingston area, so have always loved and enjoyed the river life. My brother worked for a boat builders there, and I always remember how he fell in the Thames on his first day! I also lived in Marlow when much younger, so very familiar with there and Cookham. I went to Great Marlow Sec School. Anyway, always love your videos, and your girly excitement at things you like and enjoy! Keep up the good work, you are very entertaining and provide a great insight into your life in London.
Loved the tour Hannah, we own a narrowboat based on the Llangollen Canal in Wales, she’s 60ft long by 6ft 4ins wide with all mod cons including solar panels, central heating, shower, fridge freezer, TV, oven, grill, 4 ring hob & microwave, lovely double bed & a wood burning stove for Winter which makes everything smell gorgeous. We’ve got 3 dogs, a black lab, a collie & a small terrier, all rescue dogs, they all love it & it must be great having new smells every other day. The speed limit is 4miles an hour, steer to the left for right & steer left for right, it’s a bit confusing at first but your brain soon adapts. It’s about £1200 a year for the canal licence for constant cruising, that gives unlimited use of the canal network with set mooring times for the boat, 24hr, 48hrs, 7days, during Winter for about 5months the rules change & mooring times can be extended. We’re based in a Marina so we get the best of both worlds, we can cruise or stay put depending on our moods. During lockdown we couldn’t visit but the chaps on the Marina were great at keeping their eyes in her for up. We don’t do very extended cruises we like between a fortnight up to a month, long enough for the dogs & us. It’s just like a floating caravan but much quieter & quite a lot less stress. Sorry if I’ve rambled on but seeing the festival made me want to pack & go but we’ll be off for a few weeks next month for a jaunt to Ellesmere before the school holidays. Stay safe & much love xxxx🛟🛟⚓️🛥
What a fantastic video tour. The neighborhood is gorgeous and all that's going on the weekend you were there just looks delightful! Thanks so much for sharing part of your Sunday...
Enjoyed this a lot, great editing! You really get a sense of it and the vibe of the area. I’m seeing so many cool things in these videos. Thank you! Cheers!
Hello Miss Hannah the more videos I watch about your "little" home town I'm starting to appreciate just how massive London is 😳. My home town of Los Angeles has nothing on you guys 😅. Keep those those videos coming, you're getting really good at it... Highly recommend them... CHEERS 🥂🌹🥂
I've often thought romantically about living on a canal boat - then, in 2019 I moved from a two bed house into a one bed flat! The move was horrendous, I had to get rid of so much, it was extreme downsizing. One of the 'good' things about my move was that it happened just before the pandemic/lockdown so I was able to spend many months planning storage and how I was going to live. The bonus was that my one bed flat has amazing views from every aspect - my previous two bed house was a terrace and faced nothing but other terraced housing. I don't think I could cope with a smaller home - enjoy your break!
Thx Hannah for touring the Canal Cavalcade on the May bank holiday in your wonderful area of Little Venice! I remember you vlogging this area during the Covid period & the weather was much cooler, thus a major contrast to see all the people & boat activity on & around the canal! I hope you enjoy your well deserved break, & I certainly anticipate seeing your next vlog upon your return! In the meantime, all the best Hannah & stay safe!!!
Love that canal been on the electric narrow boat dont know if it still going and the longest tunnel to Camden love the large houses with their gardens on the canal
Your hair is always top class Hannah, just like your wonderful self. Have an excellent well deserved rest. I'm I speak for many of us on here that we are grateful for anything you create, regardless of how often. Hopefully you are enjoying some nice Spring weather - down South it is lovely today - as you say - long overdue. C
This was a great vlog about Little Venice, and this festival looked like a fun visit (the food prices though!😲) The 60a film "Georgy Girl" with Lynne Redgrave and Charlotte Rampling, about two very different friends living at the start of swinging London, was filmed in part here - a good watch! Have a restful and enjoyable break, Hannah - you deserve it!
I ate at that little cafe over the canal when I last visited London and it was wonderful. I’ll be in your fabulous city again in June and hope to walk the canal again. London is my second home. Love it
There at 13:17, the candle powered steam boats, "Pop Pop Boats", they go back to at least the 1890s with record of a patent on the motor system by a Thomas Piot, a French - British inventor. And then they became popular in other countries too.
Just want to say that you deserve a rest after all the wonderful work that you have put into these videos. I don’t go to London. London comes to me because of you Looking forward to seeing you again after your rest. Rebecca xx
My Friday wasn't the same without a Hannah vlog ! 😥 But I do understand everyone needs a break..so enjoy and hope to see you back soon. Anything you post is just perfect. I enjoy seeing the London sights with my friend❤
Love seeing the canal boats! And how fun, a puppet theater boat, nice to see old time fun. Is cream tea what it sounds like, tea with cream??? Have a fun and relaxing break! See you when you return. 😘
Definitely a must visit, for me, when next in London. 👍✨ (Though on a much smaller scale, Chester has a most pleasant, city canal walk, up to a series of locks and basin, where enthusiasts have regular meets and social days in the Summer). I love the way the changing seasons reflect on canal life flora and fauna, so always a chance of seeing something fresh. To have that, on your London doorstep, must be FAB! 💖🦆🦉🦋🐝🌼🍂 ✨
Loved this Hannah. You really captured a mellow vibe there. I looked after my mates flat whenever he was away and he lived near Little Venice. Just loved it round there. Loving your work.

Beautiful! Thanks Hannah it looks so tranquil yet historic! Love those pictures on the river boats.. Blessings and happy thoughts! 🎉❤🎉😇🙏🎊🌹
Great video Hannah, Little Venice looks gorgeous! Never been, must go.
What a beautiful part of London, just lovely!
Hi Hannah
Lovely vlog…really enjoyed it.
It’s always great to be by the river/canal.
Hope you enjoy your break…will miss you.
Your hair looks great!
Hope you have a good time off TH-cam! Can’t wait to have you back, love watching your videos on a Friday evening 😊💖
Have a lovely break, Hannah! You'll be missed!
Wow so good I could feel the atmosphere through ,you have a good break rest up. Thanks again for all your videos.
@Hannah Ricketts, I love the video especially the bit with the saxophonist and the Caribbean food. That food looked amazing! 😊
Those painted watering cans and the cabin door paintings have a long tradition on the narrowboats.
Great way to start the weekend with a Hannah vlog and my morning coffee. Have a great break Hannah.
Lived in London on and off for a couple of years and never saw Little Venice. It's so cute! It reminds me of Amsterdam's canals
Have a great break!! Love your vlogs and seeing London through them👌🏻
Love seeing the canal boats! And how fun, a puppet theater boat, nice to see old time fun. Is cream tea what it sounds like, tea with cream??? Have a fun and relaxing break! See you when you return. 😘
This was great Hannah. I hope you have a good few weeks off and we look forward to your return!!
Another stellar tour of Little Venice! Beautiful!
Oh Hannah, you make me miss living in England! Love that fairground/Sunday Market vibe ❤
have a great break love your vlogs and seeing london through them excellent video
Positive vibe received! Thanks for showing us the goings on in the merry month of May.
Kind of reminds me of the San Antonio, Texas River Walk. Charming! ❤

Wonderfully informative videos! Love listening to the names with the your French accent! Beautiful! Merci!
What a happy morning! So cool to see.
Thoroughly delightful. Can’t wait to see more of the hopefully beautiful sunny spring days. Perhaps a visit or two outside of London?
Loved this Hannah. You really captured a mellow vibe there. I looked after my mates flat whenever he was away and he lived near Little Venice. Just loved it round there. Loving your work.
