I had the most awesome opportunity to work in the Carlyle for 8 years from 1976 - 1984. I can write a few bestsellers of the amazing memories I've experienced working in this iconic establishment. The memories will last a lifetime.
Love the Carlyle, stayed there many years ago. One of NYC’s best hotels without doubt, fortunately retaining its character unlike some others in the city.
In a world of standardisation, the Carlyle managed to keep a personnality of its own. That is what makes the Carlyle different. Thank you very much for your comment.
The Carlyle reminds me of the smart side of NYC, even in the late 70’s when the city was going through a bad period, there were very smartly dressed people in the streets of 5th Ave, Midtown and East 60’s and hotels such as the Carlyle, Waldorf Astoria, Plaza , St. Regis were very stylish. Those days are gone but the Carlyle lives on, I’m sure as good as ever.😊

I feel sorry for everyone who has to see those hideous spike towers on the south end of Central Park. They ruin the visual scale that has always been a calming influence. Just look at those monsters on the left and compare to the twin towers of the San Remo on the right end of that window view. (2:03)

Big fan of Tony Chi. Did you feel that the ceilings were a bit low? Did Tony Chi Studios do anything to aesthetically balance out the ceiling height?
how can they justify US$26 for a bagel, i mean common, even if its smoked salmon
It's the only way to keep the riff raft out unfortunately

We just won the design award.
Ok, well I can understand that.
How about "congratulations!" Sheesh, no emotional intelligence at all.
