I have been on board HMAS Vampire, a Daring Class Destroyer at the Sydney Maritime Museum. It has 6x 4.5 inch main guns in 3 turrets, 6x 40mm Bofors, Seacat missiles, and a five tube MKIV 530mm torpedo launcher.
I’m curious if Sea Power has a few more of those old WW2 all gun destroyers and cruisers. Would be tons of fun to see all of them in a massive gun duel. They tend to get overshadowed in this game because missiles are obviously superior, yet they keep shining in so many of these scenarios that close into gun range. Would be so much fun to let them go wild from the start. I don’t know just how many there are in game, but I can at least recall at least the Gearing, Daring, and I think the Soviets had a Kutozov or something? There has to be more, as a bunch of those WW2 era cruisers and DDs were still used up to the 60s.
The Soviet Sverdlov-class is currently the only all gun cruisers in the game, albeit modernised with CIWS. We do technically have some Cleveland-class in the game, but they were heavily modified to carry the Talos and were reclassified as the Galveston class.
I'm intrigued to see how these ships perform against the foe they were designed to fight - a Soviet missile strike. The Type 42 especially was an interesting ship for this role with it's Sea Darts and radars. The story of the Type 82 is an interesting one too. Designed to protect carriers that were cancelled, and only 1 ever built before we built the Type 42 destroyer which was really a cut-price version. Still a good ship, but likely not nearly as good as the Soviet/Americans destroyers
12:10 Wiki says the Collins-class submarine has 6x bow torpedo tubes, so could the delay in firing the last 2 missiles be time taken to reload and reset the tubes?
Definitely next time add Hmas Melbourne R21 with her A-4G Skyhawks in the fleet and let the carriers carry on.. The 6 Oberon class would be enough we don't need to add Collins in.. Everyone forgets even Aussies forget we had 3 Aircraft carriers HMAS Albatross, Hmas Sydney and Hmas Melbourne..
For the modders, the british could have the skipjack to represent the dreadnought to churchil classes, basically all before Swiftsure. Bur they had no effective guided torps at all till the late 80 so maybe take the mk 48s off.
14:27 I reckon that's because the ships have over-the-horizon radar. All the missile needs is a ping; it doesn't matter if it bounced off the ionosphere first.
England: "Alruright, England is at wor, that means Aoustralia is at wor." Austrailia: "Damn rought might!" England: "Wayt, Aoustralia what are you doing?"
Hi, ex 820 Nas myself. Westland Seaking HAS6. US navy Seaking is Sikorsky SH3/CH124 not sure I understand why the SH3 in SeaPower is most definitely not a Seaking
You could also do a modern fleet battle, even though the poms out number us we do have the Block V anti ship Tomahawks and SM-6 on our Hobart AWD's also our ANZAC class have the NSM which replaced the old Harpoons.. 48 VLS on Hobart AWD plus the 8 canisters you are looking at 24 SM-6, 32 ESSM and 8 block V anti ship Tomahawks in the VLS plus 8 NSM in canisters, then ANZAC class frigates 32 ESSM, 8 NSM and MASS decoy systems.. Collins not sure what they are doing, they were going to upgrade the Harpoons with block V Tomahawk or the submarine launched variant NSM was being looked at too but i think they canceled it and just put Aussie crews on US Virginia class instead, now we have Aussie crews on US Virginia class you could prob add 2 additional Virginia class SSN to our fleet in the addition to the 6 Collins class, i think we might have some Aussies as crew on UK Astute now too or they might still be in training, either way one of your UK Astutes might be a turncoat and start sinking your UK ships.. :)
Was that not one of the considerations at the Falk lands -- the British fleet of that era was an ASW force with few warships carrying guns? Also, I would bet the HMS Daring had a bit more armor given its age. You spoke of AGM-119... I THINK American Helicopters carry some form of that weapon as well. Always learn something from your videos.
Cap the thing about submarines firing so little of harpoons was due to I guess bug that made some of the harpoons hit the water after firing. I guess because they didn't pull up fast enough, you can see it at 6:27 when Oberon's harpoon falls into water.
The British ships really rely on their helicopters for anti surface work, the Lynx HAS.3 with the Sea Skua is a surprisingly deadly little thing (the AI doesn’t know to launch them of course). The British could have had their subs too though - the Valiant, Churchill and Swiftsure all have mods for them by yours truly (I’m also working on a Trafalgar)
Wait what where our Aus aircraft carriers Hmas Melbourne R21 and Hmas Sydney R17..?? Should of left out collins class the oberon class would of been enough for subs and added Hmas melbs then you could have an air battle and naval battle..
2026: i told deep seek what ships i want to have modelled and it will generate them game-ready in seconds. Hope you lots all voted for a socialist party since you will most likely be out of job within the next decade, too. Capitalism won't stop just because you have a baby. Or other dependencies. :salute:
Anyone know what india will buy for the MRFA 20 billion deal for 120 aircraft since Trump is asking India to increase spending. Do we think they might buy the F15 ex or just more rafale?
My husband bought me a massage candle that melts into massage oil. It was romantic until I realized he misunderstood the concept and tried to light it like a regular candle😻
I tried to recreate a scene from a romantic movie where they make out in the rain. Turns out, kissing in the rain is less romantic and more like being licked by a thousand wet puppies💖
Cap that's not a bug there is a reload time on the subs. If you look at the Harpoons you will see a time count down.
Subs were reloading, not bugged. Only got 6 tubes to shoot Harpoons from.
US Sea Kings are still just Sea Kings.
Classic cap not realizing subs have to reload
18:20 That was cool. The missile from the Australians did a loopback to try to intercept the incoming British/French missile.

I’ve recently added both batches of the County-class (with the Seaslug!) and the HMS Hermes if you wanna try those out too :D

So happy you re-did this Cap, also that Sea wolf ate all the missiles :D

Four, Don't forget HMAS Vengeance

subs were reloading on a timer not bugged

Westland Sea King was Sikorsky S61 (civvie) or SH-3 Sea King (military) but yes, Sea King for UK and US
Well we still have HMAS Vampire as a museum ship in Sydney. Perhaps you could arrange a Museum ship fight!

We call them sea hawks in the Navy
Post falklands hms onyx tried to scuttle the wreck of sir galahad with tigerfish, 2 fired but failed. Used mk 8 in the end.

Yea Sea Power Time. Hello Grim Reapers

I think the Ai is a flat earth believer.

Martin craise was not bluffing!
cap subs firing harpoon from torp tubes , takes time to reload hence the delay in firing all their harpoons
Surely they would fire at the carrier in real life though, if they ever got that close, because the carrier can launch an air wing?
Figures it was the Newport class causing issues. Caused me issues in rl lol
It would be cool if you could use the old warships from the 1800’s but don’t think that’s a thing in this game USS Constitution
Its nice to see the ski ramp on Invincible but do the Harriers have Royal Navy skins.
Uk Type 45 Vs Indian lettest nilgiri class frigate ?????!😮😮 please show this
Mk 9 is similar to mk 8 but for surface ships.
Are the helicopters providing 'line of sight' for the ships?
Thanks for trying this again 😄

Those helicopters didn't look like Lynx?
Capt, the subs can only fire as many harpoons as hey have torpedo tubes. :)
I was expecting an easy win for the royal navy
Quality battle 🥰

Melbourne is being built by someone as we speak
@@longbow1 on the game..?? are they adding Melbournes old Skyhawks too..??
@@JPT-fz8wc yeah someones, modeling Melbourne and the skyhawks into the game as a mod
Now with 100% more floating
My wife is from Adelaide
What else would the US call the Sea King? Isn't that it's NATO designation? Our Navy doesn't field them.
Battle royal.
Oh dear wawawawawawa
So Invincible vs Daring then for the final winner?
21:45 “they’re not gonna be able to sink Invincible” - living up to the name, then!

Don't fight!
Aren't the British famous for not issuing enough ammo so that they can close to bayonet range?
These sea battles need more Galleon.
The Poms will do anything to try and win the Ashes, but to no avail
Mind the drop bears.
I don't think Australia signed the disarmament treaty.

The fact that Super Cap. made me love science 😂❤
the helos are seaking not lynx
