I wanted to go to that show so badly, especially for Jess’s class. I love the way she uses the Tinity Gel. I find it mesmerizing. Couldn’t afford the airfare and hotel and since I’m retired couldn’t justify the credit card payment ☹️. Maybe next year!
I looooove nail expos! Really glad we are out of the pandemic and can enjoy these kinds of events again. Taking extra classes is so important to adding more knowledge in our tool kit. I would however be careful with Russian manicures because they go beneath the proximal nail fold and remove the cuticle that is there to prevent pathogens reaching the matrix. And then to add a gel polish right up to that compromised skin will increase the risk of developing allergies. Just want you to be aware of the science behind why it can be dangerous no matter how gentle you are. I did a lot of research and just want to share with other nail techs when I see this subject come up.
She actually taught specifically not to go too deep. I respect your thoughts on it, however I think if done properly there’s nothing wrong with it. ☺️ I also think the term “Russian manicure” is just that, a term. And that an efile manicure can be done in a number of different ways, it doesn’t necessarily mean the super deep work you see being done on social media.
@@NailsByKatieDutra That's what I was worried about, the dry manicures I see on Instagram and TikTok make my jaw drop with how much skin is being removed. So long as you are gentle to a clients skin and following your state/country's cosmetology laws then it's all good. I hope more educators like her will be represented instead of the dangerous manicures on social media.
I agree! And yes that’s definitely not what this class was about! She was a great and knowledgeable instructor. Some of the stuff I see is a little scary 🫣
