    I’ve probably watched 20 videos on shop air filters and this one makes the most sense, so I’m building this “model.” Thanks for taking the time to make this video.

    That is one of the cleanest ones I've seen. I like the idea of the extension cord on the side.

    Awesome design, i would of liked to see how you put the filters in. Are they easy to replace, when needed?

    • @levelupwoodworking
      @levelupwoodworking  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I'm sorry I didn't show that in the video. The filters fit in and can be removed from the opening on all three sides. Held in with a large washer and small screw. The screw and washer can easily be removed which provides the ability to replace the filters. Glad you liked the video. Thank you so much for watching.

    Dave, In the end you did a great job. I hope you keep it up. I am in the middle of building a filter system for my shop and I plan to incorporate a few of your ideas like the wheels and chord. Your presentation was excellent and the only complaint I have is the echo in your garage. I look forward to more of your creative ideas.

      Thanks for the feedback! I've had this air filter now for just over a month and I can see the benefit already. Sound and lighting has been an issue... I'm going to invest in improvements. Thanks again for the feedback....

    I just discovered your channel and like mentioned previously I think that is the nicest and cleanest box fan filtration build I've seen. I just wanted to mention that if you add a timer to it and let it run for about an hour after your done working you will probably see even bigger results

    4th filter could easily be adapted to the bottom which would increase air flow 25%.

    Nice build. I started gathering parts for this several months ago and just haven't pieced it together because I wasn't sure if I would hang it or make a cart. My space is super limited, so the cart would need to serve other purposes, maybe assembly or outfeed.

    It appears to blow outward and suck from the filters? Shouldn’t you have it blow inward to prevent dust from blowing everywhere? Unless you’re using it as a fan too…?

      Here is good information that I stumbled across today if interested in making a better filtration system.

    • @levelupwoodworking
      @levelupwoodworking  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you are correct. Dust collects on the filters and I can see how dirty they are. I switch or clean the filters about every 30 hours. The fan could be turned the other way and collect dust inside the box as well. Thanks for your suggestion.

  • @xlillo6175

    Do you believe 3 filters is sufficient? Most units use 4 or 5 with the same style fan.

    • @levelupwoodworking
      @levelupwoodworking  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good Question. I don't have analytical data for this one. It's my opinion that the bottom (unless lifted off the ground a little more) would be of little benefit and I wanted to keep the top covered specifically so I had a place to put tools. I wanted the unit to serve more than one purpose I guess. Thanks for the question.

    I love this build and I've been looking for something to help filter the air in my shop. Question...do you have a cut list and basic plans for this build. I'm trying to understand and see as much as I can from the video but I can't get all of it.

    • @levelupwoodworking
      @levelupwoodworking  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm sorry I don't have plans at this time. I'm working on an outfeed table set of plans for my next video. Given enough interest I may do some in the future. I would say that the top and bottom could be out of any scrap plywood you may have available. The framing is the tricky part and as I said in the video I may have made it more difficult than I should have for me... I've been using it just over a month and I can visually see that it's working great. Will show an update on a future video....

  • @jimcastino

    After looking at lots of these air filtration assemblies, I am still confused on one aspect: Which direction does the fan blow? Inward or outward?

    • @levelupwoodworking
      @levelupwoodworking  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the confusion. The air flow in this design pulls the air through the filters and out the back of the fan. I did it this way so I know when the filters are dirty as they collect dust on the outside of the filters and are easily noticeable. I think it could be done either way and get similar results but I just wanted to know when the filters were dirty without taking one off to look at them. Thanks for your comment!

    • @levelupwoodworking
      @levelupwoodworking  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry, that must have been cut when editing. I used two large washers and small screws to retain each filter. Only caught a small piece of the filter. Doesn't need much because the air pulls the filters in.
