Just amazing how a word like "biggest" in the title can attract such a lot of stupid comments. Perhaps if this model had been described as the "Greatest", model of the Titanic, it might be difficult to disagree. This is truly amazing.
Wow! This is an incredible recreation. Excellent detail. And to think, it all went to the botom of the ocean having hardly been used......The entire display is wonderful. Thanks for posting.
I love that the interior is shown so that we better grasp its scale. Ill-fated as it was,the Olympic class was still the very pinnacle of human industry at the time.
No matter how many new ship that are built, they will never be as beautiful or famous as TITANIC. she is as famous today as as she was when she was completed.
Considering this is a real scale and display model and built for those reasons, I can agree with that. There are larger ones such as Cameron's film model and the rotting model from Raising the Titanic, but those are film models They can also be fine to scale, but it is something different
Stunning model. Its incredible to see all the small details. Must have taken a long time to do this. I love it. Titanic was a real beauty. She will never be forgotten. Im a big Titanic nerd. Thank you for posting this awesome video.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Very fascinating!! Reminds me of my older sister’s model houses from the 80s-90s had cut outs so you can see the interior. That is what got me into scale models!!
Wow. What a superb model. Something that the scale model demonstrates far better than a drawing or picture is what percentage of the ship is machanicl machinery and boilers just to get it to move. It gives you an idea of the size the vessel in real terms. Amazing video.
@@Shaggyshadric The most recent news ive heard of it was that a wealthy British businessman tried to contact Romandisea to buy it but they didn't respond. might just rust away or get scrapped for metal at this point.
@@godfreysanter1565 you are correct. Hes building the Titanic 2...again lol but for the steel structure of the Chinese Titanic for the theme park. A British business man tried to buy it. I saw the confusion lol
They built a 1/8 scale model for the movie, too, but it was only the back half of the ship. I've seen the 1/20 movie version in person. It's much larger than this one and the detail is bonkers, down to completely accurately placed individual rivets. The huge set they built I wouldn't count because they fudged scale too much.
Does the model used in the movie not count as a model? Because that was the size of a yacht. Be hard to be bigger than that. But in all seriousness this is a cool model with nice interior shots. I love cutaways.
Really awesome when I was in 7th grade I made a titanic model out of cardboard and toilet paper tubes for a class project 27 years later I still have model and also decided to make a model of the carpathia to
The beauty of this model is the detail of the interior fittings and shows the opulence of the first class compared to steerage and third class passengers from whom the shipping companies made all their profits. I make models in a 1/200scale cosiderably smaller than this one and can appreciate the skill of the model makers building this model of the Titanic.
The Titanic didn't carry the British flag on her stern. She carried the White Star Line Pennant. We know this because one of the survivors removed it from the staff as the ship went down. The pennant hangs in a museum in England.
Think how impressive the actual Titanic was built by the best shipbuilders in the World in Belfast Northern Ireland. All these artifacts should be in the museum there beside the slipway and gantries where she was born and not America.
I am open to correction as it’s difficult to count in this video but: The center screw appears to be four-bladed while Titanic’s is three-bladed. Olympic’s center screw was four-bladed.
This model was created before we rediscovered that Titanic had a three bladed center propeller. The only other flaw is that the engines are running while the ship is tied to the dock.
Years ago I visited this same exposition when they came to Madrid. They still didn't have the model, which looks awesome. Everything was fine, but I got disappointed with the radio room. I see it still looks the same. Many of the objects you see there and/or placement are made up. For example, that telegraph register on the desk was never there because that was used in landline telegraphy. Anyway, it was a nice day and would love to visit this again so I can see the ship model :)
A fantastic model... beautifully done. But I'm curious why rivets weren't added. I realize it's a lot of work, but one of the things I always notice in all photos of the ship are the rivets. Nit picking perhaps. I don't mean to detract from the model.
wow just wow i think i can speak for everyone that always found the Titanic just amazing work and a gift with talent 1912 just amazing the work the time period clothes the way people were back than totally not like now i could totally keep going but i know you all understand what im trying to say
It’s an absolute beautiful model of the most famous ship in history. Even before she left Ireland she was the most famous ship. That is a long record that shall never be broken. Just one more thing thing. (Lt. Columbo) I thought the center propeller turned in the opposite direction as the two wing propellers?
Hi Titanic Treasures- That is a beautiful brilliant fantastic video and also amazing amazingly great music too/ the titanic ship famously she was born from Ireland- great movie to remember 1997.
biggest may be a strech, but most impressive is not. this model is so detailed down to the moving parts. although great, there are some innacuracies, like how the central prop is rotating in port, when there is no way it could have been. the prop's engine needed to accumulate steam to start up. (the central prop was most likely a tri blade, not quad.)
I love this model, though I don't know if it's the biggest... that might actually belong to Digital Domain's recreation of the Titanic for Jame's Cameron's movie (1|20 scale) - though it is in private collection. It doesn't negate the fact of how cool this model is though
It's interesting that there are very few life boats visible in this model. Same problem they had on the original Titanic. A clear case of art imitating life.
As with any model there are no doubt countless slight inaccuracies, we're still learning and interpreting so much about her even to this day. As for the funnels, they were painted "White Star buff". With buff being defined as a yellowish beige. Which unfortunately was their own recipe which has been lost to time. It also changed over time, the 1912 colour is not the same as what was used on Olympic in her later years for instance. Photographs of the era (even when actually of Titanic) aren't helpful as the plates and processes used to develop their black and white photographs, can make some colours appear darker or lighter than they were. Comparing the funnels to those on ships from other lines docked nearby can give some general idea on tone and possibly saturation, but only in the rough sense that they were probably not hot pink. So not terribly useful. Currently the closest you could get, would be if you could somehow recover a flake of paint from the wrecked funnels. But almost nothing remains of them and any paint is mostly long gone. There's also a good chance 112 years of salty submersion will have altered the colour of any surviving flake in potentially unpredictable ways. So as it stands, all everyone can say for sure is that it was a buff colour that would be clearly recognisable among its competitors. So it wasn't bright yellow, bright orange or cunard red, but somewhere in between on the warm yellow side of things. That makes this interpretation perfectly fine. Personally I'd go a bit less saturated with a hint of beige, but this certainly looks great too. 😊
А где внешняя копия Титаника, которую должны были построить уже несколько лет назад и пустить под круизы? And where is the external replica of the Titanic, which should have been built several years ago and used for cruises?
Very impressive model! Doesn't look to be over seventy feet, as is the model from the movie, which survives as well. However I love the detail, working engine and did I mention the amazing detail?
It was an exhibition in Valencia, Spain, but it's already over. As far as I know, they move it all around the world, so check their website to see their next destination (google Titanic the reconstruction). At the moment there is no scheduled destination I think.

There's also a 1:10 model which is huge. Not to say that this isn't awesome too.
How did we get from building ships with such magnificent work of art and elegance, to the stacked apartments that float now on the sea.. it beats me.

the biggest Titanic Scale model is the one from the 1997 Cameron Movie. Its 1/20 scale.
I would argue that the Romandisea Titanic is the largest, at 1:1 scale. Though it’s still unfinished
