I found the same thing over the years, that far too little actual accurate knowledge has been coming from most other reviewers & most of them simply don’t know ANYTHING about what’s intentionally supposed to be on a film when it’s restored in 4K versus what’s not correct & that same sentiment applies a lot of the time when I here people complaining because of how a certain scene looks 👀 when it’s actually been restored correctly they just don’t understand the lenses, filters, special effects or camera work that was used for those scenes lol!!! 🤔🤪😂 But it’s always great when I here from a subscriber who completely understands why I work so hard to share all of this accurate information, data & knowledge! I find a lot of misinformation gets passed around & it’s a shame! 😔 But it’s great hearing from you, thanks! 🤟
🤟I completely agree, not very many people remember that movie (Iron Eagle) but I loved that film & always liked it, also when I was younger I enjoyed it even more than Top Gun lol!!! 😂 Hopefully someone eventually picks up the rights to release Iron Eagle on 4K UHD! Though to be honest it’s great we are getting to relive & enjoy these great 80’s movies in 4K UHD & it’s such a great time to be physical media collectors! 🤘🎸
@In Search of Physical Media oh I'm definitely not complaining. War games is great, but Iron Eagle was my favorite. Of the 80s movies from my childhood Iron Eagle and masters of the universe are probably top of the list for what I would like to see come to 4k.

Have you seen any of Matthew Brodericks early films? 👍This is a fun movie you can watch as a family just like the Flight of the Navigator & has that same great feeling!

@@InSearchofPhysicalMedia the C2 was a Christmas present, but I got it about 2 months ago. I have an LG B7 which I purchased in August of 2017. It still has a great picture, but I wanted the newer model. Better processor, etc. When I bought the B7, I put 100 hours on the panel, then had it professionally calibrated. Turns out I wasn't that far off, just using my eyes. I did the same with the new C2. Put the B7 in my bedroom.
@@samuelbeach5585 Sweet! I wasn’t sure if you had seen my post but I also recently just changed out another 4K display for the LG G2 OLED EVO Gallery Edition, LG makes some very good high end 4K TVs! Some of my other high end 4K TVs are Samsung Q because of video gaming, I don’t ever use any of my LG’s for video gaming because of their high burn in retention & having issues with this before!

I always enjoyed this movie, strange that the movies and music I liked as a kid is now regarded as consistently superior to modern content, you would think I'd look back with cringe but in reality it's completely the opposite...
So true lol!!! 😜 What we loved growing up on has aged into being retro & more popular these days so my kids think the stuff my wife and love (music & movies) is cool a they love watching all these too! So that’s is a cool aspect that we get to relive all our favorite things from the 80’s without feeling like their outdated & cheesy lol!!! 🤣 I’ve really been getting a kick out of all these 80’s 4K UHD releases & I hope we get a ton more 4K releases from that era in the coming years!
Next on 4K from the "battle of the Badhams" (two movies directed in 1983 by John Badham): BLUE THUNDER. While I like WarGames, it's mostly a talkie, a dialogue driven movie, with most of the "action" taking place inside the NORAD computer center. I love action and Blue Thunder has OODLES of aerial helicopter flying action.
Well the dust has settled and watched Krampus and Live Die Repeat on the Denon 760H. Very impressed, sounds great in our theater. I knew the signal upgrade alone would have a great impact and it did. Set up was easy, but there were a few quirks getting the Xbox to communicate. So, do you have a "best 4k Atmos track" video?
@@InSearchofPhysicalMedia I have Sony "Atmos speakers" sitting on my l/r speakers upfiring. I have the assignable/ rear set to the upfiring. I decided against placing them as front height speakers (mounting to wall) for now, out of convenience. Working out some setting adjustments and trying to figure out why I just get DD surround instead of Atmos when streaming Netflix ( I know you hate streaming).
@@lacrossed55 Yah, the sound quality due to horrible streaming compression & downgrades is so low grade it never has great Atmos sound effects lol!!! Did you do the full complete setup for the Denon with the placement microphone in a completely silent environment?🔇 That microphone & stand setup is very important for proper calibration & speaker placement & if you ever mount or move speakers you need to do it again it’s a top tier calibration software that makes the best use of the placement of your speakers to produce the best Atmos effects!🔊 Also do you have any Physical 4K discs with Atmos on them? Like the new Frighteners 4K has a cool Atmos introduction video at the begging that really shows of the power of that new receiver & some of the Atmos 4K discs really show off how great it is!

I do not have Frighteners but have a bunch with Atmos that we are rewatching and enjoying the full experience. I did do the microphone set up. I was a little confused if it wanted to configure of the main center/ center position or if I should move to the various seats at my choosing or follow the on screen positions exactly 🤷
@@lacrossed55 So if I remember correctly when I set mine up originally it’s the main center seating position that you start with & move the microphone slightly from that central position when it tells you too, it’s calibrating the speaker sound levels & positions based off of the center central seating in the room for optimal Atmos & sound playback! So for me my main theatre seating that I calibrated it from is directly in front & 11-12 feet roughly away from my center channel Klipsch speaker & 85” OLED 4K! So do you sit directly in front of the center channel & TV?
I haven't seen the actual disc yet, but it looks like they digitally removed the filter Director of Photography William Fraker added to give the film a soft focus look. (Or at least as much as they could.) If true, this is a bad. Tampering with such a classic of pop culture is not something we want to become a trend with these remasters. Hoping this isn't true.
