crazy how L&L released, got nerfed on every single stat, and still manage to be the 2nd best brawler in the game
Unlike some of the other brawlers. Supercell barely tweaked then with those soo called nerfs. Also instead of giving Larry a projectile speed Nerf, they gave him a useless unload Nerf.

@@NothingMeansNothingButNothing Nerfs affect different brawlers in different ways, ruffs is a support brawler and Larry is a thrower. Also, you can't just say that a brawler was the most broken one of all time just on the basis of how many nerfs they got. Throwers in general are always toxic no matter what.

You forgot that Grom was really broken on his release (he had got VERY long splits of his super and VERY fast projectiles)
Fang also was broken due to his Fresh kick sp and he also had a tank trait (charging super by receiving damage)
And Chuck on his release in Heist, he had got Sam's trait and had been destroying safe in a few seconds
Fang's tank trait didn't make it into his release
bro, i´m reading the top comments and i´m not seeing ANYONE talking abour how broken edgars was... first of all he was free, every time you played a match they will be FULL of edgars (even in showdown) he broke the servers almost FOR AN ENTIRE DAY and even after that fixed he was still to broken and you could see him in every game mode
i still have nightmares about the total edgar apocalypse that happened in every match when he was released
its like that to this day, i cant get through rank 22 because of this fucker even tho im playing stu. You add up everyone playing dynamike and get unbearable and unfun experience. Edgar is still broken to this day unnerfed and abused by braindead players.

I can still see Edgars in basically every single game mode I play, it's by far the most popular brawler since its release
I remember when they gave Edgar for Free and all matches was Edgar and people kept spamming his stupid gudget and kept baiting the brawler if he gonna jump towards you or away from you.

the most broken brawler was Shelly in the early days. All solo showdown lobby would had at least 6-8 shellys.
That's literally edgar now. In solo showdown there's always 1-2 edgars in the match. In the new trophy escape gamemode I once joined a match where 8/10 brawlers were edgar 💀

Barley was extremely broken in the early stages of brawl stars, I remember it vividly. When you threw his super very close-by the hit area got closer as well.. making him throw his WHOLE super on maybe 2/3 tiles.. (comparable to Larry’s main attack)

Sprout was the most broken brawler on release, not only were his attacks impossible to dodge but people would trap you in spawn since respawn shields didn’t break sprouts walls back then

For me, mentioning Charlie was like saying "present day" because that's about the time when I started playing Brawl Stars. Charlie was released in the one brawl pass that I had the gems for, and buggy Mico and Kit didn't affect me too much because when I heard that they released, I took a one-month break because I felt like Brawl Stars became broken and boring, so I decided to wait for nerfs.
A bit of info for beta Darryl! Darryl was garbage except for in one mode: Heist.
In beta, you used to be able to hit "play again" with randoms even if they had the same brawler. So, what make the 23 tile Darryl super particularly strong (and fun) was doing "double Darryl" heist, where both Darryl's would roll down the entire map at the same time toward the safe and there was pretty much nothing the enemy team could do to stop it. Funnily enough, it is still weaker than what Chuck does today...
The Darryl super also allowed for heist innovations. In beta, since the player base was so small, at high ladder (which was around 650 at the time) you could physically watch the meta evolve around you. You would often run into the same team 3 or 4 times in an hour, and so you would need to find a way to beat them. The team to beat was a pam, jessie, Nita team (the equivalent of an unkillable team at the time), and so the strategy we invented to beat them was for our entire team to hide by our own safe (Darryl, Barley, bull), Darryl charges a super while defending the safe, goes across the entire map, and hopefully Darryl can take the safe out quickly enough before nita and jessie get their supers. We managed to go from a losing streak to winning 70% of the time, and darryl barley bull was pretty much an unbeatable comp too, so we ended up as the kingpins of the ladder.
I wonder if that still happens nowadays... but with scrims and power league and so many brawler options, there doesnt really exist an unbeatable comp anymore.
Beta was a whole different world.
I will forever be jealous that I had to wait until December 2018

I remember getting ruffs as my first chromatic from the brawl pass and I LOVED JUST MELTING EVERYTHING THAT DARED TO COME CLOSE. I wish they un-nerfed Ruffs :(

When sprout first released, you couldn’t break the wall when you respawned like you can now. So, if the enemy team in brawl ball didn’t have any brawlers that could break walls, you could trap them all in their spawn and endlessly spawn kill them.

I loved release Hank. I got him to 400 trophies in one day. It was so fun picking up 1-2 power cubes then oneshotting nearly every character. Then then nerfed him to be so so bad and I was so upset. Now he got his mutation though and I got him up to 800 lol
Edgar hypercharge should be low key removed from the game
Great video, however the phase "too strong " was a bit overused. I would suggest being a litle more specific by mentioning theyr stats or what made them so broken.

Rosa at release was probably the most broken thing this game ever had. She was my second rank 20 (which was kinda hard to get at the time), my first one was a leon at power level 7 after weeks of hardworking showdown grind. Rosa took me 5 hours in power level 1. Every single gamemode had a broken strategy that could be used, my favorite one was walking into the goal in brawl ball. There was not a single damage dealer that could, after unloading all ammo optimally, prevent her from doing that, even in power level 1. The only way of defending was to either stun her or deal knockback. But because of the reduced number of brawlers at the time, the nonexistence of gadgets and the meta, the only thing that could do that was some very few supers, and some of the brawlers that had them weren’t even that viable in the meta. Not to mention you could abuse your super to kill these stunners then use it again to go into the goal. Rosa was just unstoppable.
Every new brawler is "broken" because it's in the shop. It's how they make money. Then they nerf it after a few weeks. Simple.

Anyway, I kind of dislike the fact that Draco can become invincible and basically unkillable while also being able to heal himself with his super
Imo, rosa has to be the most broken brawler in history. she was literally unkillable and could cycle supers really fast

Larry and Lawrie were much better,
Rosa may have had her 80% shield which cycled really fast, but L&L had their 100% shield (which also made Larry not be able to get stunned, slowed, etc) which cycled even faster. additionally, they could destroy a heist safe in literally less than 10 seconds with their 2nd star power.
and the most important thing: back then, there weren't many brawlers. if Rosa had her 2019 stats in 2024, she would at highest be an low S tier brawler. The fact L&L managed to be so gamebreaking with all these brawlers, abilities, gamemodes, etc just shows how ridiculously broken they were. definitely much better than Rosa at release.

I remember when heist was first released and was super broken since it was 1 team the attackers and 1 team defenders which was random, and the maps were god awful. One of them I’m forgetting the name of was a guaranteed win for a defending barely or dynamike

I feel like you should've also mentioned that something that made Hank broken was the fact that he could charge his attack while remaining hidden in bushes. You could just be casually strolling, and then suddenly this idiot shrimp comes out of the bushes and one-shots you. And if he didn't, his slowing gadget could make sure there was no escape
Since most tanks kinda suck nowadays, I feel like buffing Darryl's roll to midway in between what it is now and what it used to be might revive him as a brawler.

i have a rework idea for sam:
if you didnt grab your super in 45 seconds, it would explode dealing 900 damage to enemies.
To get it back, you would need to do some attacking.
If his super is close to exploding, the super button would start to blink red (about 15s from exploding.)
This would be helpful to get your super back if it got lost in the green clouds.
Also a third gadget idea: "Jailbreak".
If sams super is availiable, his next super shot is a throwing shot. (low distance) Sam throws one of his arms. It will dig through walls, in a line towards sam. This may be helpful if you got jacky trapped. (it cant dig through unbreakable walls)

9:40 this was not shelly's peak, shelly peaked when her second star power released. Basically band aid was a 8-bit second life with a 20 second cool down
you forgot surge's gadjet that allow him to short-tp, was insane but cool on the otherhand
i pushed larry to r25 on the first day of getting him and then stopped using him but now when i try to use him in power league it’s terrible. Every single aspect was nerfed including his range which is the most annoying thing of all. also for cordelius it is much easier for the enemy to kill him in the shadow realm unless his hyper charge is activated which imo shouldn’t have been nerfed to the extent that it was because more often than not his super’s only purpose is to get away from enemies by teleporting a different one.

I started playing before bea has came to the game and left the game when surge came to the game, now started again but only playing when nothing to do else.
Even though I hate all the nerfs L&L got, it’s understandable. An artillery isn’t supposed to be able to defend against an assassin (unlike some snipers…)
You forgot to add Edgar on the list, at the time he was released, he literally crash the game because too much people were using it as it was free to obtain.

Tbh fang's hypercharge still slammed even after the first nerf, but this nerf did it dirty, but still fang's hypercharge is concider to be the best hypercharge in the game, and beacuse of that fang is concider as one of the best brawlers, wishing he gets buff to other things since he is my main brawler, I love his mechanics bro and his character, don't think I'm a simp or anything, he is just that one brawler that suits me the best!
You forgot 2019 Shelly when they gave her Band-Aid as a second Star Power. She would charge it in like 4 seconds and it restored her to full health. WAY more broken then 8-bit or Bea ever was. For a while Shelly was the only viable brawler in showdown.
What about shelly's star power that healed her whole hp whenever she was close to death. It was pretty over powered since you could just push anyone without risking dying. Later it was nerfed and instead of healing her hp to max health points, now she's healing 2k points of health.
Except when u oneshot her with pipers ambush💀💀💀
