Re-watching this episode, and finally taking notice of the underscores used in these scenes. WOW! Adds so much to the effect of the scenes being played.
Very good episode. Lynn Milgrim was relatively restrained here, and Paolo Seganti also did well (so did Martha Byrne, considering she had to somehow make it work when she mostly just gasped and heaved her bosoms). I like the way they handled the reveal of Evan/Barbara - Nikki blurting it out, Hal barely reacting. The music was too loud and ever-present in some scenes, especially when Lucinda was talking to Bettina. Loved Lucy's reaction to Margo's shame attempt - I should have plugged her!
ATWT was great when the circumstances forced out an otherwise well kept secret. Unfortunately, Evan wasn't even around to get into fights with Hal in the aftermath. It would have been better to keep him around and have Nikki develop her own crush on Barbara's lover, leaving Jeremy in Dani's clutches.
Wonder if when Orlena was doing her swan dive she thought she was diving into the Mediterranean? Regardless of her thought process, thank heavens she surrendered Luke to Damien before she took her plunge! Regarding Nikki blurting out about Evan & Barbara's affair in front of her & Hal, IMO she only did it out of spite since Barbara was (correctly) chewing her out for being in a hot & heavy situation with Jeremy in Nikki's bedroom, almost making out - after all, Nikki was supposed to be babysitting Jennifer; doing what they were doing made her oblivious to Jennifer's wandering downstairs & accidentally knocking over a lamp breaking it - as Barbara said, Jennifer was then at high risk of badly cutting or even electrocuting herself.

Critics lambasted ATWT for the Orlena storyline -- I loved it!
TimsDale4ever Me too. I’m so glad to see these old shows here.
As The World Turns was my favorite Soap opera. I was not happy when they canceled it.
