Fantastic video @theheadlightrestorationpro ! What are your thoughts on headlight film (or ppf) instead of the miguires headlight coating? Or still use the headlight coating, but ppf overtop for added protection/longevity? I suppose this would be an added layer, and go towards your crust/layer theory, and take away a bit of the clarity, but some of that ppf is labeled as a 10 year protection, and may save having to polish/headlight coat more frequently?
Have you ever had excessive drips? Just tried the megs coating on my headlights and had some really bad dripping patterns. Thankfully i noticed it pretty early on and it was cold so i took it off before it set. Obviously it was user error but i wonder if you have any idea why it happened. I thought i did a pretty light coat but it was a new can and i may have been a little heavy handed? Any tips would be much appreciated. Have a good day.
Hey thank you for watching first of all... The biggest tip I can give you is to rewatch my videos at whatever point you're having difficulties with if you think about it you have over 100 examples of the expert spraying the light and giving tips on occasion at that point on each video... But that being said it must be five to seven inches away.. you must move fast to deliver a thin coat... Very repetitive over each spot again and again and again... Very thin coats overlapping.... Yes..some time... It's very rare I bust out the p220.. do my best not to.. but yes the order would consist of that.. that's for really bad lights like 2k Clear sealed lights..
Those are generally with other products.. never once experience orange pill with this product it's very fluid and like liquid even when is fully dried and cured it's like a shell perfect shell... You typically get orange pill and products that take too long to seal. The seals even in cold weather in less than 2 minutes (surface/and to a touch).. Usually you get orange peel from stuff that's not designed to be on headlights and it's extremely visible because the clear environment.. you're better off to go with headlight certified products and this is one reason... It's much more rare to get orange peel and a headlight certified product..👍🏼

On older vehicles such as trucks with separate amber or red turn signals etc., do you use the same basic technique?
Yes if they need it only if they need it cuz a lot of times those don't go bad.. but when they do the same exact process works just fine for them...
