True FOT always begins on a new month. New month begins with a Crescent/Waxing moon, not when man says it will or when man spots it. Also, it says that it's a 1 day feast, not 2. Man (Jews) set it as 2 in case it was cloudy and they could not see it. But if there's a huge storm with sky covering clouds for a week, the month begins, then? Of course not!
Let's say it begins when they spot it. Google it Moon Phases Calendar and click on Science Weather Live, and you'll notice it's currently a dark moon & first light (Crescent/Waxing) on the moon is on the 4th. So, how can it be today if there's no light on the moon for someone to spot it?
