Who gets so excited about everything costing more?
Teachers and the privileged government class.
People that don't work
Since 2012 we have TNRM'D over forty feral/community cats in Southeast Portland. We pay for everything out of pocket; we are not a non-profit. During the past four years since starting to save expenditure receipts we have spent nearly 45k on our ongoing care for the cats. That said, when we vote on a ballot measure, I cannot help feeling somewhat screwed as a homeowner, because we are the group of citizens who must pay for these ballot measures. It doesn't seem right that non-homeowners are not caused to pay like us. Lastly we feel totally forgotten in the Southeast; very few road repairs around here and no speed bumps installed when requested to slow down drivers.
Now watch everyone that voted yes start complaining about their rents going up.
They will demand "affordable housing" too. Unbelievable how much of a disconnect people have just because they think they are sticking it to the rich or something. I'm one income with a kid. It should have been left to only homeowners with children voting on this at the very least even though we still would have gotten to same result.
Have we taken the number one highest tax rate from New York yet? If you don't vote you can be assured the privileged government class will increase your taxes. Everyone of them and their families do. Only have yourself to blame.
👎🏾
This will cost homeowners 500 to 1000 dollars more a year. I hope your rents go up the maximum amount, every year, for eternity. To get around the rent increase law I hope they max your utility fees. The school levy was greed in trying to keep temporary covid funding forever. Now we have to pick up the tab the federal government handed during a pandemic.
