Ha Georgia, SC here so I know what you mean about the hwat snd bugs! There is a cat door for windows. Our summers are hot so you want to keep the cool indside and the cat door for windows is awsome. I had one a very long time ago when I was still in rescue. I also had 2 dog kennels atached to the house made a catio for the cats but when I moved all that didn't worked anymore.:( It was awsome gor the cats . I miss my old house.😢

nice video. so i noticed the catio isnt set up on solid ground, in my opinion, thats where the issue with the door comes from.

This has been my dream to get a Catio for my cat. Thanks for the video
TBH that door would make me uneasy. I'd probably put another, more sturdy lock on it. The screen mesh is a great idea too to help keep the bugs from coming in. If I'm ever able to move into a house, I'm definately getting a catio. Maybe not this brand, but I foresee my husband making one. Glad your cats are enjoying it!
honestly the locks are super sturdy but I could see why you'd be concerned. Luckily my cats dont seem like they know its a door lol
They use them kind of locks on the better rat cages, and rats are escape artists. But these locks are tricky to open, you have to slide, lift and slide other direction to open.
So unless you have small children who might open them, they are quite secure.
You can put a diffrent latch on it and a lock. All is no problem.

I have the same Catio attached to a window and I absolutely love it. My two cats love it!
I got the same codo but the smaller one wish had your size! It the best thing for them everywhere I lived I tried have mine a condo it the best thing ever

My catio has 3 layers of wire. 2 layers of 1/4 wire mesh and 1 pet screen in between the two wires. Nothing can get inside of the catio
About the build process and your concerns. The screw thing, a more powerful drill would definitely help get the screw in where its supposed to be and the door if your catio isnt on a completely flat surface its not going to stay squared and itll stick.
(This is from someone who uses tools and builds stuff for work daily).

You should get a second one and join it so it’s a lot larger , then you could add a lot more enrichment and litter tray . I love having my litter tray in mine 🎉
litter tray in this weather with the amount of bugs at my house would be a terrible idea. They can continue to use the indoor litter boxes since they can come in and out :)

I have a suggestion for your window/cat entry from house - have you thought of using a cat flap or doggy door? Make a fly screen for the window and attach the cat flap. I did this for my cat at my last place.

How did you attach it to the sidings? My landlord don't even let me hang pictures or blinds. I want one so bad for my rescued cats. They need sunlight too. My dogs go out but the poor cats have yo stay in. ( horrible)

I have 5 cats that have all been strays, does anyone else talk to there cats about how they have it made inside. I will be getting 2 outside cats next yr to keep the mice out of our goat and donkeys hay.

You’re absolutely wrong. Outdoor cats are terrible for the environment and them being in a catio is way safer for them and for the environment

This is bad for cats it’s too small and never keep them in there I have two cats and they love going outside you should just let them free roam outside or just keep the window open connected btw your cats probably are sad 😢 because you do this
