That’s what I love about these guys. They always with the blatant stuff that probably is referring to past stories, and even if they may be embellished at times, their subliminal bars though are super hard if you catch them, and probably are real for sure.

Pete talking about his life. 84 is cold cuz he opens with a golf swing---golfers yell out Fore to let ppl know something is coming towards them. Then each bar is him talking about the years after that -89, 91,92,95,96, and 98 of his gangster life. Bas just doing Bas things, cooking up dope with rhe wife and selling to the local nits. Once yoh get the slang its easy. Norman's verse goes hard af once you see the lyrics.
Love this track. One of their best tracks. Love how Pete gives some details about his criminal past and Norman has a brilliant showcase here. Bas just kills it as usual too.

Pie and Mash is a typical London meal, mash meaning mashed potato.
The improv from Norman on the 'Pull out the mash and make you a pie' is fitting. He shouts Sweeny as in Sweeny Todd the Demon Barber of Fleet Street, who after killing his victims they were made into meat pies
What I’ve always enjoyed about this one is Bas takes a back seat with his flow. He normally steals the show with his flow but because what Norman Pain and Pete are talking about I feel he reigned it back a bit. Props to Basil for that and Norm and Pete for how real they got on this one.
Bas has that crazy flow because is a musician: piano teacher, and is playing other different instruments like trumpet. 😉 They started making music and became friends ( Pete and Bas) around 7 years ago . They met each other at a piano lessons, because Bas is a piano teacher, and Pete wanted to learn playing piano. Bas is also an ex : ,,notary,, 👏❤️✊💪😎🔥On the other side is truth that Norman Pain had a hard life, he was in prison, his wife, family left him, been evicted, addictions, depression.

the switched providers line can be a few things. If you switch providers, you have to swap the SIM card in the phone. Doing so usually wipes the contents of the phone.

He was in the military for a long time that's why he doesn't have tattoos like Pete does. They also did a before they were famous episode so that's where some of the information comes from as well.

The line where he says in 98 he beat a case, he went home in a crowded Zed, not bed. Zed is UK slang for the Nissan Z sportscar. The one that was new in 98 was the Z32 300ZX, which came with a twin turbo version that was the most powerful Z ever made and still is. It was a direct competitor to the MK4 Supra, and the early 2000s Lambo used its headlights (like actual Nissan original equipment lights). There was no room in those cars, it had a wide, potentially TT engine stuffed into an engine bay smaller than most 4 cylinder cars, and the pssenger area was smaller than that of an 89 Civic. Fast, cramped top tier import. I had the non turbo of the previous gen, the Z31, it wasnt even close to as fast, and i called mine a Z, not a Zed, bc im American. In Japan they are called Fairlady.
