It's a neat idea but it does look a bit clumsy when picking arrows out of the quiver as you cannot grasp the arrow by the nock. Instead, you have to grab it at the pointy end, which requires a bit of a fumble to get your hand to the nock before you can offer it up to the bow. If it was possible to have the quiver at the knee, it would obviate this problem but it would make walking a bit clumsy.
Yes, you are right. It is ok when picking up the arrows the way I did but it is not perfect. There is another solution to the issue you mentioned using my current setup and it is if you have the quiver on your front/left part of the belt just above your left thigh provided you are shooting with your right hand. This way you grab the arrow straight by the nock and the path your hand travels before knocking the arrow is quite minimal. It works quite well and it is fast - I just tried it.
