Ken, I followed your video step-by-step and you are a genius!! I am a 63 year-old woman, so I did drop a number of F-bombs. It was not easy. But I did accomplish it. Thank you for the help.

Our wash machine has been leaking for a while and we were mostly just trying to ignore it and hope the problem goes away. It was leaking today so I climbed underneath and discovered where the leak was coming from which was a ripped boot. I found your TH-cam video. I bought the boot and the spring tool. I was able to replace the boot and, most importantly, no more leaks. Thanks so much for posting this video. I probably saved $300.00.

That spring tool seems like it’s definitely a game changer.

Well, wasn't sure where on my washer my drain was as some can be accessed from the back. Took apart the back only to find out I had the same configuration as this video and needed to access it from the front. By the time I finished, I wished I had known how much I'd have to dismantle and had bought a new gasket/bellow beforehand, but at least I was able to clean my drain, wash my gasket/bellow and know how to replace the bellow if it ends up being shot! Thanks for the wonderful guide video.

...liked your calm approach...about to do this in a couple of days. My Duet is a little older but approach to this matter seems much the same. I'll not buy spring tool for one job...might have to cuss once or twice.

Thank you very much, Ken. awsome instructions. Beware of a screw under the control console, which mine had couldn't remove it without removal of screw. Don't need special tool use needle nose pliers and it will come.

    Flawless video. Ten stars.
Only feedback for the group: if you can sucker a friend to help you with the spring clamp, it's super easy with 4 hands... don't have to buy the tool.
    Thanks again for the video!!!

Great video. Mine has a drum light, so I just had to cut a hole in that closed port to the right of the detergent inlet- that's where the little LED housing gets stuffed in. I bought the spring tool- huge help. This would have been significantly more difficult without it. Well worth the $30-ish cost on top of the $100 gasket off eBay. Not a bad price all-in, considering an OEM gasket is apparently like $300.

We just had our boot replaced today. The guy who did the job did not pull the boot back between the plastic piece and the drum. (the step you did around the 18-19 minute park). It definitely didnt look right and we were able to easily do what you did in the video. My repair guy got very defensive when i texted in and said we were making a mistake. He even went as far as to say he was amending his receipt to say we altered his repair. I'm like 99% sure we are right (otherwise theres a gap where water looks like it can just flow into our machine). Just interesting.

That tool is a great idea, I am going to make myself one before I tackle this job on my washer. Thanks.

I just replaced the bellow on my parents' Whirlpool, but didn't have that tool. It was an absolute nightmare getting that spring clamp back on.

Hey Ken, why would I have soap leaking from the top middle hole on the gasket? It drips down the front of the washer on to the floor ever since we had a sears tech come do a maintenance cleaning.

Filters accessible from the kick plate on the bottom. Its 2 screws and it pops off. Put a deep baking tray under the filter cap before you open it. And be prepared for an odor. I don't know how many washers I have seen scrapped because the filter drain is clogged. It's needs checked every few months so IT IS ACCESSIBLE without removing the top and the door....
After cleaning it out you can buy cleaning pods for the washer, Afresh is the brand that comes to mind.

There is no kick plate on this model. Unless you know something I don't...

Dear lord I wish mine had a removable kick plate. No such luck on mine. You can access the thing by taking either the back or the front off the machine, gigantic PITA. For something that should be checked semi regularly, that's way too much work. I'm honestly tempted to get out the Dremel and cut a big square out of the front panel so that I can directly access it in 5 seconds.
