- YAGP 2022 Tampa Finals Hope Award Winner, Asuka Hara, Age 10, from Ballet Le Coeur (JAPAN), performing Variation from Graduation Ball.
Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) is the world's largest student ballet scholarship competition and global dance network, connecting students, teachers, schools, dance companies, and audiences worldwide. Now in its 22nd season, YAGP has reached more than 150,000 participants worldwide through its international ballet workshops, ballet auditions, ballet competitions, and ballet master classes.
To date, over $4 million has been awarded to young dancers in scholarships to leading dance schools worldwide, including The Ailey School, American Ballet Theatre JKO School, The Australian Ballet School, Ballet West Academy, Berlin State Ballet School, Bolshoi Ballet Academy Summer Intensive, Boston Ballet School, Canada’s National Ballet School, Dutch National Ballet Academy, English National Ballet School, European School of Ballet, Houston Ballet Academy, John Cranko School of The Stuttgart Ballet, The Juilliard School, Paris Opera Ballet School, Princess Grace Academy, The Rock School for Dance Education, The Royal Ballet School, San Francisco Ballet School, The Washington School of Ballet, and Zurich Dance Academy, among other preeminent institutions in the U.S. and abroad.

The annual YAGP Gala at Lincoln Center, Stars of Today Meet the Stars of Tomorrow, features the biggest stars of the world’s leading dance companies, many of whom had their NYC debuts* at the YAGP Gala, alongside the rising ballerinas and male dancers of tomorrow.

すごい体もしなやかだけど、顔の表情が豊か。こんな子が日本にいるかと思うと誇りに思う！将来が楽しみ！
教える先生も、細かく丁寧に教えて見て指導しているなーと思うし、この子もそれを完璧にこなしている。細かい部分の表現とかすごいし、手を上げて行く角度とかめっちゃ計算されているし、コントロール力がすごい！！

見れば見るほど、10歳と思えないほど踊りを魅せるだけの余裕があって、音取りのセンス、細かい手先の使い方、骨格まで全てがずば抜けてる。
もうここからはエリートコースで、何年かしたら舞台の真ん中から出てくる子に育ってるんだろうな。

HOLY COW. That is some of the best ballet I've seen performed by a youngster. Her control and presence is amazing for such a tiny package. She took her time to complete each movement and was totally in tune with the piece of music. I loved her smile as she danced. You can tell it was coming from inside her heart and not just pasted on for show. She is going places.

She really showed the happiness and excitement that is supposed to be portrayed in this variation. Her extensions and poses were so complete and each movement looked so effortless. I wish this young dancer to have a full career of success and happiness.

What I appreciated the most was how she filled out each step/movement. She was patient and let her arms completely finish before flowing gently into the next position.

Asuka is incredible. And 10 years old. Wow. Beautiful technique, beautiful style, wonderful smile. She has so much charm.
She shows such a respect for ballet in the delicate way she does the steps, and her expressive port de bras, and how she angles her head in different positions complimenting the steps.
Everything is so delicate and precise but with feeling as well. I love how she puts so much into it. The way she rythmically moves her hands with such flair. She is so alive. What a beautiful solo.
It's so good to see ballet in ballet shoes instead of pointe shoes because it really shows the foundation one needs for pointe and how hard you have to work to get there.

Her pique turns could have had more attack - something to aspire to. Asuka is such a beautiful young dancer and is such a sheer delight to see perform. Her parents must be so proud of her. And she also exudes a sweetness and innocense yet she has a high sense of artistry. Beautiful young girl, and dancer. She is a beaming sunflower of joy.
