I started building SF3D models in 80's. Of course I didn't build them well, I was a young kid with no one taught me any skill. In early 00's, Nitto re-manufactured the series again under the name Ma.K. At that time, I purchased any Ma.K model I came across but I haven't build most of them. Last year I accidentally found out there are new Ma.k models manufactured by Wave and Hasegawa. Since then I could stop building my old and new Ma.K. I still have the Nitto's Jerry, Krote, P.K.40/J-40(S) not built yet. I am currently mastering my skill before I lay my hand on them
Fantastic kits aren’t they? My experience sounds very similar to yours 😁 I’m still hesitant to build my old kits in the stash. Thanks for taking the time to connect 🙏🍺
Really glad you gave the build a chance and really glad I decided to preorder this one. I too was hesitant when I saw it was 1/35 and the details looked over simplified and even toy-like in the promotional images but this is excellent news to hear that the kit is waay more than meets the eye and the sum is greater than the combination of its parts. Kits that are a joy to build are a class of their own. Thank you for sharing. Edited to say that I have absolutely fallen far down the Ma.K rabbit hole, love the universe, the kits, and that creative freedom you talked about. My favorite so far is probably the PaK Kröte and I may wind up converting one of these 1/35 scale Kusters into something similar. We'll see. Take care!
@@workbenchhobbies4316high I have been trying to purchase a few off these kits , could you point me to a seller , internet sight .Also I take it it’s Japan it’s bought from ,Thnks hope I get a reply realy want to get in to this , Thnks , it looked good ,
can't get much better than @BrailleScale comment :) . wanted to add that if you have not glued the hip joints, there is some movement (even if you glued the hoses). just built one of these and that slight movement allows you to get a solid stance.
Austin Powers & Ma.K/SF3D together, who'd have thought!!🤣🤣 Nice review Clayton. I remember seeing the SF3D kits at Hobbyco in Sydney back in the day, so cool! Looking forward to when you (eventually) give it the Workbench treatment 😉 Keep up the great work🍻🍻
Love Ma.k stuff……but the scale in 1/20 is off putting when you want to build a diorama without scratch building every single element…..however THIS scale gives us so much more scope……watching this has given me an idea for a armour diorama doing the rounds , but exchange the armour for this. Probably already been done, but it’s now a seed planted…..thanks!
Greetings, if I could interject some constructive criticism it would be your narration. If you watch the most popular modelling channels such as plasmo or nightshift even, the talk is upbeat, happy and fun(ish). When I listen to you it's always a negative, depressing, downward tone, (nothing to do with where you are from) I want to enjoy watching modelling channels, not go cut myself after watching. There are another couple of channels with the same tone and I watch them with the sound off! Or not at all. Nigels modelling bench is one of them. (an angry little man) I've noted these channels struggle (in the grand scheme of things) with subscribers, I'm pretty sure it's because of the reason mentioned. Nothing personal and I hope you don't take offence. 😊
This is the way reviews should be done. Review, background and the basic build. Love it.
Thank you. I’m just trying to make the reviews I’d like to see. Glad you found some value in it 👍

Oh! Testing my memory now, but I don’t think I glued any of the articulated parts in this one.
Appreciate you taking the time to comment 🙏👍

That’s made my day! Can’t wait to see what you come up with! 🍀
Alright, I’m gonna have to get into MaK now lol
😂 you won’t regret it!
Love Ma.K
Everyone loves Ma.k 😜😎
I think the 1/35 option is great. 1/20 is just too big for me. However, these little suckers are expensive! About 75 bucks for the pair I see.
It’s the unfortunate side of this genre being out of Japan. But it’s a unique line I can justify spending a little extra on 😮💨
was out for 2 and 1/2 months and heard its already discontinued??
Surely not! That doesn’t make sense?!
👍
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it 🙏
the kit looks better than hasegawa ones
Not sure if ‘better’ ..but looks pretty adequate to me
i think its pronounced as Maaa kay
🤔 put it down to my Aussie accent 😉
