  • 'Tom' obviously refers to mr. Tom Erbe, creator of the Erbe-Verb and 'getting lost in space'. Most of you will already know the EV can make sound on its own, but it becomes a musical instrument when you pass it through the Q. The final output (from Mimeophon) is sent back into the Erbe-Verb to create a bigger mess. Please note that feedback patching can easily get out of control but MakeNoise modules can handle it. In fact, experimental patching is encouraged and supported as long as you don't connect outs to outs. I often use the CV Bus to mult audio. It's not designed for audio, but it works very well.

Nice, I've used erbe-verb as an oscillator with feedback before but somehow never thought to put a filter and a delay in the chain. I've got a stereo dipole and a mimeophon so I know what I'll be doing next time I sit down at the synth :)

Man, it's a while now that I want an Erbe-Verb, but I'm afraid they will release a newer stereo version or something soon...

Well, I'm not afraid of it, but you know what I mean :)

I personally think the Mimeophon is way more advanced than the Erbe-Verb and Echophon together. I am not sure they're going to focus on a new reverb while both modules are still part of their flagship synth. And Clouds Parasite (microcell) also has Oliverb (Emiverb now) which is almost an EV clone.

I miss mine. Can't help to think that its quite overpriced (compared to other reverb moduls) and to use it as a rather one trick pony noise generator like here.

I agree it's expensive compared to other reverbs. I don't like the mono input and the pre-delay. I tested it with a Moog Mother 32 and it can do better reverbs than we usually hear from it. It depends on the source and in a Shared System the source is always the DPO. I feel it limits EV as a regular reverb. However, it's amazing as a sound design tool. I personally feel it's a Pony that knows a lot of tricks. But indeed, it's getting old and the competition is very strong (Desmodus Versio).
