Recently purchased the Beckett T501 gauge online..No One In Town stocked it.. Reset the Nozzle to correct position,,It Was over 5/8 inches off... Oddly enough NO ONE had ever corrected it..Both companies that had serviced it in past several years ever bothered with it, Now i service our Boiler.. I find that the honest folks that post informative videos like these on TH-cam are more reliable than our so called professional service companies here in the interior.
I just stumbled upon these burner videos. Very valuable I'm going to structure an in house class for our service technicians around these videos. Thank you very much for your videos your very much appreciated for the content you deliver.
Thank you for your videos. I grew up in a house built in 1956 with my grandfather. His house had a Bard furnace with a Beckett oil burner. I remember being a little kid watching him fix and maintain it up until about 2002 when the heat exchanger failed and he finally replaced the entire unit with a with gas furnace. Since those days I've always been fascinated with these old burners. You do great work and your videos bring back some great memories.
I have a Beckett afg that is puffing back. I changed the nozzle to a .85 70A because that's all HD has in the .85 size. I changed the external 30A filter as well. flue pipe is sooted up with a liquidy soot. air flow adjustment not having much affect. can't get the smoke to clear up. I forgot to purchase the small pump filter but I will go back and replace that. pump is very whiny. do you think that is the problem? in desperation last fall I had a craigslist serviceman tune up the system. he replaced the cadcell as well but the burner still didnt shutoff when unit ran out of oil last winter. thank you for any help
i could def hear the Italian in you...but i watch all ya video good job...my nozzle did not even spray when it was out , it was hard to hard the correct nozzle .
With the different width of blades being used on different Beckett models, is Beckett finding better combustion efficiency or lower manufacturing costs?

The gauge come with the electrode replacement kits. Not sure they are typically sold separately. And yes, this man is the salt of the earth

Steve, if you would take apart one of the old nozzles to show the fine spray slots the fine filter protects.

It's all about the pressure that is why the fins are different, more blades higher pressure.
