Private security is in competition and more accepted by business than SAPS, due to the fact that corruption in government is so rife.

2008 was when everything went into freefall. Bring back the old skool SAPD: Anti-Corruption Unit, Child Protection Unit, SANAB, Stock Theft Unit...and recruit hard-core crime-fighters who are fit and fierce. Someone who can run 100 Meters in 13 seconds or less. Someone who takes it personally.

I remember growing up in the hood there was a team called the flying squad unit that primarily went after car jackers. There was no crime in our area, we didn't even have a gate at home. A bunch of guys tried stealing copper taps and they were bliksemed so hard by my friends' dad and his colleagues, who were in the flying squad, that we never saw them again. This was between 1998 and 2003.

They could be leaving because now they can't just do anything because their mafia boss is no longer the minister. A major clean up is needed in the police force of South Africa.
I hope the new minister will upgrade the police systems though, our police need to start using technology more. They need drones and they need finger print scanners and better high speed vehicles.

They are leaving because there's no salary increment since 2019 until now and the criminals have more rights in South Africa, when you fight them you are taking the law into your hands how about criminals when they still and do trespassing. People of South Africa are tired of this Constitution of South Africa. Is to early the Police are still going to resign.

private security are growing becuase business depands on them whilest gvment officials takes time to respond, its easy for security comapies to recruit Ex cope becuase they already have tactical skills.. government should tighten loosends because blv me some of these companies are formed by Ex SAPS officials or have SAPS members as shareholders .if SAPS rspond the way Private security respond then where will be the need of many security companies flooding the country, Government have more funds than security companies but its not working..this is fueled by corruption and lack of strategising
