Update on the groverhaus since the Yogs didn't know. It was made vacant in September 2018 and was under a demolition order. On January the next year, the house was on fire in suspicious circumstances and was demolished two months later
Groverhaus structural anomalies I (don't) remember: (1) 'load-bearing drywall' (2) foundation built on swampy ground that immediately began to crack (3) insulation inside staircase so as to permit fires to climb it like an express ladder (4) landing halfway down staircase has a window positioned carefully so that if you fall you will shoot out the window and die (5) thermostat is positioned in direct path of sunlight (6) windows do not match anything including each other
I love how the part of the house they're treating as "crazy and random" is the original part of the house that was built buy an actual builder and not the actual "Groverhaus" addition xD.
To be fair, Grover gutted the interior of the original house and rearranged its layout, since the addition now contained both the kitchen/dining room and the garage. The entire thing is a cursed abomination, it’s just that the older section looks normal from the outside. It looks just as wrong as the newer part does on the inside, as you can see from this video. Don’t take my word for it, just take a look at what he did with the HVAC. 😂
I'm going to have to watch a documentary about this house after the video. I'm surprised I haven't stumbled upon this Internet history before sounds interesting and horrific

As someone who never heard of groverhaus before, it is hard to appreciate the real life awefulness that it's supposed to be from this maps, as it looks like so many other aweful TTT maps

Seems like the all of the 'meme' bit of it is just people making fun of the mod essentially. Other than looking a bit weird.. his house apparently turned out completely fine. And most of the pictures they use to make fun of it are.. like, while the house is being built. Yeah, turns out houses don't look good while they're still being built Like, the one foot off the ground exit door thing?.. .. like, he's probly gonna put a patio out there or something, or steps, or who knows what. But clearly that's gonna wait til the *rest of the house was built* Honestly, the only real issue was the quirky windows and the garage.. and I'm not even convinced a dual door garage is an awful idea
Maybe it was perfectly safe, but that doesn't change the weird and uncanny design choices. If anything, that makes it even stranger, like it's a house from a parallel universe where houses are laid out just slightly differently.

I would say the original house’s hallway and closed-concept is the most cursed part and that wasn’t built by him. Only uncanny thing on his extension is maybe the windows, and with some shutters I think that could be remedied. If you think the staggered garage is uncanny, I would disagree, I think it adds interest to the design and breaks up what would otherwise be an ugly flat wall. Either way, to each their own!
Part of the lore that gets overlooked at times is Grover was a moderator on SA at the time and not a particularly well liked one. So posts about Groverhaus would often get taken down and the posters punished, which of course made it more fun to post about Groverhaus. Also if I remember right it 'passed inspection' because Grover got a contractor's license and passed it himself.
