The Lab Los Angeles is Mixmag and Smirnoff Sound Collective's weekly post-work unwind where we stream only the finest American and international DJs, live and direct from our Downtown LA office.
Once again returning to the idyllic rooftop of the 1 Hotel in South Beach with Smirnoff, Mixmag promised the city a demanding line-up of surprise headliners during electronic music's biggest week, Miami Music Week - and fans were not disappointed. Throughout the day, rooftop partygoers were treated to sets from the likes of South Korean newcomer Peggy Gou, New York's Martinez Brothers and the Drake-approved and Mixmag favorite, Black Coffee.
Memorable sets from all three kept the rooftop vibes going from afternoon until evening, transitioning from melodic and disco-tinged Gou choices to the South African power of Black Coffee.

For everyone wondering about the single-ear headphones, he got into a car accident when was younger and sustained some pretty severe nerve damage in his left arm so he cant really use it.

These headphones are used by a number of other DJ's such a Louie Vega?
Yeah its an oldschool sort of headphones, iv seen the old school house legends using it: Little Louie Vega, Terry Hunter even Ron Trent.
I find it pretty usefull as it lets you listen to cue and what youre playing at the time. Sometimes Dj's get t caught up in whats happening in their headphones and dont realize what the crowd is listening to.
