    Love the sound of a John Deere B. Grew up cultivating and raking hay with one just like that.

    Glad your planting is on the move. I've run duals on the 656 for years using the drill and planter. Gives a smoother ride and helps float through soft spots.

    On the old 2 row planter, at the end of the row, when you pick it up, the wheels were still turning and you could see if corn was dropping out! Don't be loke my Brother, he planted 25 acres, and when it came up, it was every other row! So, I got investigating the planter, and he shiered a pin in the drive gear- And he says- I was wondering why I never had to put corn in the other hopper 🤣! So we went and strattled the rows he planted to plant the rows he missed! It's funny now as you look back! Tell Allen I see he's finally got a good tractor on the farm!

    They should have had 2 cylinders on the 4 and 6 row 7000’s. It takes so much pressure to lift them. Definitely one of the biggest issues for those good Ol planters.

    @gnashman9894 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Alan, boy that’s some really stoney ground you have, even after all the rock picking, would it be worth hiring in a destoner every 5 years. That way you could spread the cost more efficiently, it would give you more uniform emergence and a decent increase in the yield of your fields, the way that planter was rocking around, you planting depth must be all over the place,
    Still love all your videos though,

    Is that JD a D or what is it? My grandpa had two JD tractors like that one, we still have them, the D is at my farm and my brother has the A, their both 49 models, I probably never use a monitor, I'm kinda old school 🚜

      My Great grandpa bought the farm in 1951. Although my family lived off the farm, we spent most of our time here, helping my grandpa when he took it over from his dad.

    I see you have 26,000 subscribers. If 15,000 would give you $ 5.00 that would be
    $ 75,000 for a lot newer and better tractor. And maybe one
    other implement you need bad
    WHAT DO YOU FOLKS THINK ?

    • @douglasmacarthur8775
      @douglasmacarthur8775 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What makes you think he needs a newer and bigger tractor?
      It appears his crops are being planted and harvested in a timely matter.
      A 35 cow dairy operation sure doesn't justify a $75,000 tractor.
