I have bought several Weber gas grills on FB Marketplace for less than $100. A few of them had to be totally gutted and have the burner tubes, flavorizer bars, grill grates, and just everything replaced. The good thing is that there is a lot of third party replacement parts out there for Weber gassers that make it a $200-$250 project to totally restore a Weber gasser.
I pulled the trigger on a 2nd Gen Blackstone after burning through 3 big box conventional gas grills. Still runs like new! I added a $300.00 Even Embers pellet smoker to my kit to handle smoking duty. Cannot Go Wrong with a Blackstone!
I have probably had over 12k in different bbq’s thru the years and I think my favourite bang for buck was by far my Weber kettle master touch. It didn’t cost much and the amount of delicious food I have cooked it’s a no brainer for a person shopping on a budget.
I am with you about the FB Marketplace. I picked up a lightly used Weber Performance Deluxe grill that was in pristine shape for $200 which included two bags of charcoal. Today's price on Amazon is $550! It has been one of the best investments I have made with regard to grilling. I love it.
A year ago last fall I bought a Members Mark pellet smoker on clearance sale for $199 (regular $499). It's my understanding that it's the same grill that is sold in Canada or online branded as a Coleman. It's very sturdy, double walled cooking chamber, temp range 150-500, fairly large hopper, foldable side shelf opposite the hopper, came with a full heavy duty cover. Only drawback is no way to direct sear over the firebox. I've done pork shoulder, chicken breast, wings, and Thanksgiving turkey breast on it. Cooks GREAT! And it was $199 + tax!!! Looking to get a nice gas grill/griddle to go with it and my cheap CharBroil Kettleman....
My Weber Genesis s435 I got it on the day Weber sales on huge discount. Normally was $1,799 2 years ago and I got it was $475. I would normally go for the Weber Mastertouch and get the rack then bring it inside till I enough for a cover and other accessories.
I actually have that Royal Gourmet grill and I need to replace it because some pieces were destroyed by my movers. Thanks so much for this video and your perfect timing 😊 FYI for anyone interested, that grill was like $150 on Wayfair and it’s lasted me 4 years and doesn’t look bad at all. I’d still be using it if it wasn’t for the movers.
Can you make a video on the best single burner portable propane/charcoal grills (nexgrill, megamaster, Weber Q1200, cuisinart grillster, Weber go anywhere, grill2go x200, Expert Grill, ozark trail) pls🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 for us looking for something compact and able to take camping, to a beach or to the park🙏🏽🙏🏽💯
i bought a members mark 2 burner (similar to the $279 charbroil) from sam's club for $149. It does the job, however it only resulted in me wanting to buy more stuff like a griddle and now a pellet smoker.
A few years ago I wanted a pellet smoker, but I was skeptical as I was a stick burner. A neighbor put a Traeger out for $200 so I said, let’s try it. Which is a steal already, right? But to make the story better, because their daughter has my wife as a school teacher they gave it to me for $150 and brought it over on a trailer for me!
Every time you lift a lid, it looks like they're going to fall off. Hard not go for a Weber Kettle or a Weber Smokey Mountain. These will probably last the longest. Though there are all sorts of vertical smokers under $300 - and the best one I had was an old Master Built Analog smoker for $120 that had temps from 150F to 400F. Great for ribs, chicken, sausages, pulled pork, brisket, turkey, salmon...and even smokey burgers cooked at 400F on the lowest rack. I'd rather go with a weber kettle, and add a "stacker" kit to the kettle...
What improvements in quality/features do you see in moving up to the next price category for pellet grills? I picked up a Pit Boss Lexington from Walmart and have ~6 cooks on it, so far it seems like a great value. But I'm coming from propane, this is my first pellet grill.
As a guy that has sold pellet grills...get the one with the least amount of electronics. A standard Pit Boss is great. Buy your own meat probes. Louisiana makes Pit Boss by the way. Get something you like, but the electronics are all China crap.
I had a $259 infrared gas grill from Lowes. I only had a few months because I then I got a Big Green Egg and my husband gave my infrared grill to a friend who used it for used it for years and loved it. It did cook great; though not as good as my egg. I also had before my Egg a Weber Kettle charcoal grill. This grill was great and I would recommend it to anyone. It is your best bet for a cheaper charcoal grill. But alas, my husband also gave this to another friend. He used this grill for years too and loved it too. I think I need to give my husband away and keep the grills.
Get an old, used, 22" Weber kettle for $75. Can grill, and smoke with it. A good stick burner is going to cost you $2,500+. A Weber Smokey Mountain if you want to strictly smoke on a budget. Stay far away from Charbroil or Chargrill. Flimsy junk. Don't pay over $50 for one.
Nearly everything has become ridiculously inflated. And despite the higher cost, most products acquired are habitually discarded much too soon in this "disposable lifestyle" culture.
GRILLS:#1 {the OLD charger heavy duty unlike what they have now} got 20 yrs ago not sure where still have it and use it it was a father's day gift. GRILL#2 LOWES OK JOES off set (the first one was so badly put together the @ black guys carried it in and were LOL it was put together wrong wheels would not roll I could not use it,plus it was a father's day gift to myself,I called LOWES and gave the bad reviews on line and told them am getting a lawyer. They set out to 2 guys and the grill fell apart of them :part of it fell on to the foot andd leg of one of the guys" new grill came and was better.I use them in my #youtube videos just BE CAREFUL of were you buy it and whom will be putting it together...
Marketplace is a facebook product, so... No thanks. I picked up a baby kettle-style grill at Lidl for less than $30 and it cooks well enough for smaller meals using Prime6 charcoal.

Have you done an evaluation on a Louisiana Pellet grill yet?

I love this idea for a bbq on a budget! They’re so versatile.
Picked up a three burner Weber Spirit with full size griddle insert for $200 on Facebook. Only a few years old. Buying grills new is a suckers game
I agree "slightly used" best way to go right now for grills. Needs to come with a cover to be interested in the product new or used.
Big Lots had Charbroil on sale 4 burner with side burner after taxes it was like $175.

I just picked a Weber Performer charcoal grill on the Marketplace for FREE. I cleaned it up and replaced 1 caster wheel and it's good to go.
Priceless

I got a pit boss propane and pellet smoker on sale for $100 at Walmart almost 3 years ago and it’s still working great
I do love a great sale...

2013, weber q 100, walmart clearence, $66, still use nearly everyday

The best grill for under $300 is the pit boss lexington from Walmart.
Best scores on Marketplace, brand new Smokefire $500, Weber performer $100, Weber Smokey Mountain $100, Napoleon Prestige 500 gasser for $300.
At that price I think it should be Weber kettle premium every time and get some accessories.
He scrolled past a $10, and $25 ones. The $25 one looked to be a 22. Bargain!
Expert Grill HD 32” charcoal for $137 at Walmart. I love this grill even over the Weber kettle. Cheers!
I’ve smoked briskets, turkeys, fish and chicken, roasted legs of lamb, and grilled steaks and burgers, all on a 22” Kettle (Weber and SnS)

Man, talk about brutal! Your husband giving away your grills? I guess as long as he lets you buy a new one each time…
I just bought a Pit Boss Laredo 1000 for $273 assembled

Me thinking about buying fire bricks and just some expanded metal....
before smoking your own briskets became popular. my wife got me an offset new at academy for $89. 20 years later i still use it.
Man, talk about longevity for a grill! That’s really rare in today’s market to find something that will last that long for such a great price.
Nearly everything has become ridiculously inflated. And despite the higher cost, most products acquired are habitually discarded much too soon in this "disposable lifestyle" culture.
For less than 300, I'd get a Weber 22 Kettle Premium and a Slow and Sear.
I got a akorn kamado grill on sale for 280 dollars
$219.00 for a Weber master touch with a cover assembled at Ace hardware.
Free grill is better when it's a Weber Genesis
