@@krs123247 Yeah, she is obviously stupid in her comment but there is a real problem in society when a comedian has to apologize for doing his damn job. Kevin did nothing wrong
This issue wasn't a matter of sensitivity. This was about exploiting a real issue by digging up something really out dated with the express purpose of attacking Kevin Hart. As a muslim who hears insults by public figures all the time, I can not imagine digging up an insensitive comment that someone made 8 years ago to destroy their character. The comments may have been insensitive, but they were not inciting violence or vilifying an entire group.
You're wrong on two counts - his comments did incite violence and did vilify an entire group - LGBT. He's a homophobe and should have been called out for it. He never apologized until forced to apologize. He's a homophobe. He said he'd smash his child over the head if he thought his child was gay. The last public anti-gay comment he made was 2011 - not really that long ago! and he also said the reason he stopped telling anti-gay jokes was that the climate was more sensitive now - not that the jokes were admittedly homophobic or that that he was sorry for saying those jokes. He's a homophobe - he finally got called out for his homophobia.
SP Roman homophobe... HOW 😂😭 that tweet was a joke, he wouldn’t actually do it and if he would then why would he tell everyone. That same joke is in his stand up. Come on you need to be smart and gain social skills to learn when jokes are made and such. These are common misconceptions as you don’t realise and identify jokes due to lack of social experience. Secondly the word ‘homophobe’ is very harsh and cannot be plastered so simply over a tweet. He has apologised before the Oscar debacle so shows your lack of information. What you said was due to a lack of info and that’s completely fine g 🙌🙏🏻 learn and grow
Look, definitely damage is done by comments like that-believe me, muslims are the MOST vilified and I have firsthand lived with the effects of insensitive comments. I’m just saying that this was an intentional attack on Hart, and was not done withthe intention of protecting the LGBTQ+ comminity as far as I can see
If I hosted the Oscars I would of said. "Hey what did Father Time say to Mother Nature?" "WOW You have a really fat grass, do you wanna play with my clock" Awkward silence ensues and I'm there!
I've been a fan of Kevin, but after hearing this interview, he has earned my respect as well. Kevin's a great person, man enough to own his mistakes and strong enough man to deal with bullys.
I love how Kevin Hart can take jokes about himself and genuinely laugh and not get mad or awkward when interviewers bring it up. He makes it human and comfortable to watch.
As a gay man, enough is enough. Leave the guy alone. He’s done enough. For the LGBTQ people, think about your parents. When you first came out to them, there’s a good chance they were like Kevin Hart. They weren’t open minded, but people change. Your parents changed (well not everyone’s parents but a lot of them) they’ve changed and Kevin Hart can do the same.
I think the problem is not about being open minded.. Is more about people being so over sensitive nowadays. Everybody is offended by anything. That's the true issue. IMO.
potorrero I’m gonna have to disagree to an extent. What he said back then wasn’t cool at all. But a. He was a different person compared to who he is now and b. He apologized for it numerous of times and he’s shown that he’s not that type of person. It’s a matter of people just getting over it.
Homophobia definition is the fear, hatred, discomfort with, or mistrust of people who are lesbian, gay, or bisexual. Kevin Hart only wrote a couple of jokes about these type of people 10 years ago and he hasn't shown any of the behaviors mentioned above. Try to pay more attention to the english language and use the correct words to describe things
dragonboy718 what’s wrong with that? These types of people, referring to ppl who are not like yourself. Using ‘they’ or ‘you people’ to describe a group of people is not bad....it’s how u use the English language. Pronouns people.
The irony is, he fired himself from hosting.. They still wanted him to do the show because obviously a comedian saying offensive stuff isn't new.. The people who want to still be upset should go about their lives Kevin Hart free and keep it moving.

Bryant G His twisted were homophobic. Telling people to beat the gay out of their kids isn’t a joke, that’s why he deleted those tweets. You could see Steven start to get irritated when Kevin countered his statement "it's our job to entertain people." Steven had something along the lines of I'm not over it until the crowd is over it. That highlights such an important characteristic in this man - that he is fake and stands for nothing. He doesn't get the idea that you need to have strong convictions and be okay with yourself sometimes, even at the risk of losing everything. And I love that Kevin got a moment to preach that
firecorn1 That’s not what he was saying. He was speaking on the fact that you can’t say “I’m over it” and expect everyone else to be because you are. Kevin is okay with what he said, fine...but he needs to accept that not everyone feels that way.
@firecorn1 Wow, you should really watch Steven being interviewed in Comedians With Cars Getting Coffee. Few people on TV have as much conviction as him.
totally disagree. the reason people disliked what kevin did is because just cause he's 'over it' doesnt mean lgbtq community stops getting hurt by these types of jokes. those people still have to continue to live in this world that tells those sterotyping jokes about them. it's like apologizing to your spouse for cheating on them and then saying 'i'm over it, i've apologized enough'.....just cause u, the one in the wrong apologized, doesnt mean the other person is supposed to automatically be ok with it. personally, i didnt see this story when it came out years ago. this is my first time seeing it. so yea, i appreciate a new apology--- but when the story came out this year, he DIDNT apologize- he said 'i already dealt with it' as if people who are hurt by it for the first time are irrelevent. it shows that he is arrogant and unempathetic to the plight of the lgbtq community. he thinks that if he says sorry (but doesnt act sorry) that that's enough. terry crewes explains it better than me. but i feel his self-righteous anger on this, and it shows he lacks humility.

The comments may have been insensitive, but they were not inciting violence or vilifying an entire group.
onlyfacts I don’t know who’s doing it, but it is very frustrating and lacks perspective
Very true

IMO.

totally disagree. the reason people disliked what kevin did is because just cause he's 'over it' doesnt mean lgbtq community stops getting hurt by these types of jokes. those people still have to continue to live in this world that tells those sterotyping jokes about them. it's like apologizing to your spouse for cheating on them and then saying 'i'm over it, i've apologized enough'.....just cause u, the one in the wrong apologized, doesnt mean the other person is supposed to automatically be ok with it. personally, i didnt see this story when it came out years ago. this is my first time seeing it. so yea, i appreciate a new apology--- but when the story came out this year, he DIDNT apologize- he said 'i already dealt with it' as if people who are hurt by it for the first time are irrelevent. it shows that he is arrogant and unempathetic to the plight of the lgbtq community. he thinks that if he says sorry (but doesnt act sorry) that that's enough. terry crewes explains it better than me. but i feel his self-righteous anger on this, and it shows he lacks humility.
