Spencer: "Wow! You are pretty fierce". Love it! And love how he complimented her on her outfit.
    Sprina for the win!!

Going back to this scene(s), I really like Sydney as an actor but I hated how they wrote her to be a stereotypical aggressive black girl with some quirks such as art! I really hoped they would make her more feminine and assertive rather than sassy and “fierce”. You could tell based on the clothings they chose, mostly throughout her scenes, that she wasn’t being portrayed as an equally appealing and attractive person like Joss, and it bugged me!
So while I adore Trina 1.0, and think she’s remarkable, I also equally, (maybe slightly more) love Trina 2.0 because of her softer and more feminine essence. It’s so rare to see brown/dark skinned woman as feminine on tv shows without them constantly catching an attitude, and subconsciously needing to prove they are tough or strong. Now, granted, there’s not much any of the Trina’s can do, based on the writing and story line, so they have to work with what they’ve got, but I just really appreciate Tabyana for adding more softness to Trina, and Sydney for drawing me to this fandom in the first place! ❤❤

      I'm a bit late😂. But you're right with your comment. And me personnaly I prefer trina's Tabyana😊

She was never written as a stereotypical aggressive black girl. She was written as real and human. She had empathy and love. She was written as hyperindependant due to her life as a latch key kid. She was slowly breaking out of that and realizing she has to put herself first. A lot of people like to minimize Sydney to make sure they uplift Taby. Sydney was great and "good enough" for a contract and for this audience to champion as a fan favorite and for critics to praise and get Emmy nominations until you all got "better representation" aka someone that looks more like her darker skinned fans. This fandom has gone out of their way to erase sydney and outcast anyone who still mentions her. and gaslight them into thinking that people can't like Sydney more. I don't see anyone defending Sydney when people say they like Taby more? Do you? But people think they have to defend and force people to not choose who they like more as soon as Syd is in the conversation.

Always using the same talking points talking about clothing style as if Sydney didn't get hired at 15 and they never updated her wardrobe. Talking about "femininity" true femininity isn't just being a soft-spoken pushover who wears pink. There's different types and looks with femininity. I think she's very feminine. This is the first time I ever spoke up on this, but dang, this ish is annoying.

@@Janicestartsover who are you talking about? Sydney or Trina 1.0???? And hi- you must be new to Sprina and my commentaries- welcome! Please keep reading further as you watch more! 😊

@@Janicestartsover I find it interesting that you got offended by Trina 2.0’s version, like people can’t make the same claim. My point was on American TV- you RARELY a soft, dainty and feminine version of dark skinned women, who aren’t always smart or hyper independent. That version is real and exists too! Those types of dark skinned women deserved to be heard too and seen! At the end of the day, we are not monolithic or even from the same cultures- we are diverse and just as much as you prefer that representation, I also prefer my representation, and we got both! I also NEVER said I disliked Sydney, I just didn’t like the writing or the direction of Trina as much back then because at the time, and as a non-American- I was like “not again!” Plus I didn’t even know they were gonna replace her, when she left, with a dark skinned girl cause to me she was dark/brown skinned lol anyways- your emotions and opinions are valid, but guess what? So are mine! Two can co-exist! I love them both and the more you watch, you’ll see! Plus you would have known if you were part of the fandom at that time! 😊 enjoy! Their story is beautiful (Sprina) yet bittersweet!

I miss THIS Trina and Spencer. No offense to the new actress, but I still haven't warmed up to her as Trina. The fire/fierceness just isn't there anymore. Man, Nicholas Chavez (Spencer) was kinda bad his first day. Literally pointing to the gallery down the street LOL. You could hear it in his voice and also in the scene with Laura/Nik. I read an interview where he said he was so nervous his first day as it was his first onscreen acting gig. I'm so proud of him as he definitely got noticeably better as time went on. He deserved his Emmy win.

@@thestarinhereyes2 How about now do I still miss this Trina? Yes. The new actress seems very sweet but she is not Trina and there is very little romantic chemistry between Tabi and Nicholas. I hope that Sydney returns one day.

@@mooki33 That shows that you don’t support neither Sydney nor Taby’s dreams. Sydney left to pursue her education and do other projects, and she’s happy. Taby is doing what she loves, and is happy. Also, as a member of both their patreons, I would say Nicholas and Tabyana have immense chemistry on and off-screen.

@@thestarinhereyes2 Listen here Terry Troll. You have your opinion and I have mine! Sydney left because her first year of college was difficult with workload that goes along with being on a soap. That's her prerogative. Taby is NOT Trina for me and many others. She is miscast here. I said it then. I say it now and I'll say it tomorrow. Sweet as she can be, but she isn't Trina. It's a business. Known as SHOWBIZ. If TPTB decide that Taby isn't working and they decide to go in another direction then she will be replaced. The exact same way that Marcus was just let go after playing Nikolas for 3 years. Why? It's a business. I said what I said. I stand by what I said. You need to learn that not everyone has to share YOUR opinion.

@@mooki33 your comment went WAY left Lool I spoke directly to your comment about wanting Sydney to return, despite her desire and decision to leave for HER future, Taby not being Trina, (huh??? She is though lol) And then your opinion on TabNic not having chemistry… again, are we watching the same show??? I did not bash you nor call you a troll! No need for that. But do you fam, sounds like the truth triggered you lol she doesn’t have to be *YOUR* version of Trina, but she IS Trina… she’s literally playing her 😂 it’s THAT simple, (and much more) that’s all!

I also don't like the first actress that plays TRINA. She's useless as a an actor and doesn't convince the audience they have a love connection that's natural.

It’s so unnecessary to be so vile about this young lady. Everyone who worked with her had nothing but good things to say about her so your opinion is in the minority and some things you can truly keep to yourself.
