I heard the comment Italians are more Chinese than real Chinese from several Italian friends regarding family. It has something to do with being in the US rather than being Asian or Chinese. I know plenty of Chinese and Japanese married local people in Latin America. In fact, it is generally assumed it would happen in Latin America. I also observed in France and Italy, Chinese marry into local population fairly quickly. Only in US and UK, Chinese and other Asian races refused to marry Into local population. I suspect it has a lot to do with family values. I heard the comment Italians are more Chinese than real Chinese from several Italian friends regarding family. Like how multi generation family stayed under one roof, which is pretty common for Latino as well. One Italian girl who married a Chinese told me Italians are Chinese in white skin, she has no problem with in-laws staying with her, something American husband or wife would find problematic.
