I just loved your song the first time i heard it. It took me many years to get hold of it. Well done White Soxx. P.S. You will be Remembered. Yours Cliff
It wasn't a flop; I bought it when it came out when I was 14!!! Adored the song from the moment I heard it on the radio, and now 40 years later I still love it!!!! About 10 years ago I had a short email correspondence with Frederic about the song, he was so nice and was happy to talk to me about the song. It will stay one of my favorite songs till the day I die!
Dear Frederic, I bought this single in 1981 and found it wonderful! I've been always thinking who are the people behind this number! Now I'm happy to finally find you on TH-cam! I find it a real shame that your hit never made on main street! However, you are always on my juke box!
so cool to see this after all these years....I loved this song back then....it got quite a lot of airplay on late night radio in Northern Ireland at the time but I just couldn't buy it anywhere
I heard this when I was young and it's always haunted me. I found out more about the ghosts of versailles but was always waiting to hear the song again and now, here it is. Thankyou for putting up the documentary as well. Absolutely fascinating. Especially as I'm often asked to be choirs and have to record over and over again. Tiring , but worth it. Great tune. xx
I heard the song for the first time when it was aired and i had to have it. It was so amazing so special and it has always been a little mystery to me who did this and why it never went big .. I missed this broadcast and i thank you for putting it up here .... It seems so amzing that a song like vienna from ultravox which is also very theatrical became such a huge succes and this one sadly never earned the credits it deserved imho ...
Amazing I found this on youtube... will the original 1981 song come on cd somewhere? On discogs.com I can only find it on vinyl and therefore I only have vinylrip so far. It is a great melody, often in the best 2000 songs of all time in Holland! The story of those 2 women is fun to read, but flawed isn't it?
A MASTERPIECE STILL AFTER 42 YEARS

I have got the single....
