    If you just mount it to a tank, you won't need the motor running all the time. Solving all your overheating issue, and results in more steady pressure/paint jobs

      Thanks :) This solution was made due already having this version without a tank. And couldn't afford to buy an add on tank.

      @@CaptainsDrydock crazy, how much are computer fans there? Up here in Canada you're looking at minimum 25 a fan. Or 30 bucks for a 3 gallon tank ad on

      @@Burnt_clutch89 WOW! They're super expensive in Canada!! $7 in the UK and even free if you rip out one from a decarded PC - Much cheaper if you can't afford $30

      I have one on a tank, and having almost burnt myself on it on a beginner trial run, I'm fitting these fans!

    FYI, if you bought a 70mm fan for the top, the holes also line up. Really helpful vid, thanks.

    Thanks. Just ordered the fans. I'll probably 3Dprint the top mounting, but nice to know you can just glue it.

      Now that I have a 3D printer, I would do the same if I did it again.

      Have you found the files for the top mounting?

      @@aspmos Recently I saw a friend that found 3D print files. So will do that soon :)

      @@CaptainsDrydock I cannot find the file.

      @@aspmos Sorry, I don't know the file location. As I only saw another maker install one a while ago.

    It begs the question, WHY is a cooling system not already built into these?? I had a compressor with the extra black tank underneath and I had the same overheating problem with that. They just churn out these without taking into account any necessary improvements based on customer feedback 😦😧 Chinese made by any chance??? 😒😒

    • @CaptainsDrydock
      @CaptainsDrydock  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There is a cooling system, it's just not good especially for long term painting. I've since got one with a tank and that's working much better.

      @CaptainsDrydock thanks very much and also for the video, I forgot to type it very uncouth of me, sorry. Yes, you'd think they'd make these for a few dollars/pounds more with a proper cooling system for longer working periods but the idea seems lost on the manufacturers 🤔 I'm puzzled. I'm still feeling my way with airbrushing at a very basic level and getting frustrated with instances where I've cleaned an airbrush thoroughly but still finding it's not pushing paint through and then the next day the dang thing works ok 😫😄😄
      I'm using a little red pad compressor Oasser Airbrush Compressor kit
      and also this:
      Airbrush, AGPtEK Airbrush Kit Air Brush Pen, Mini Air Compressor Airbrush Kit USB Rechargeable and Portable Airbrush Gun for Make up, Tattoo, Nail Art, Cake, Face Paint and Model Painting amzn.eu/d/5GAfKDt
      Sometimes they work but they're not powerful enough so I want to get back to a decent compressor.

    I have a question is .. which side should I place the fan.. should it be blowing or extracting ?

    • @CaptainsDrydock
      @CaptainsDrydock  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Blowing. The air will circulate through the housing and out of the vents.

  • @bertusswinkels1978

    how do you power the fan?

  • @Minibrum
    @Minibrum 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Really good vid, helped clarify some stuff for me. Just one thing, you want both the fans blowing onto the parts they are fixed onto? No exhaust fans?

    • @CaptainsDrydock
      @CaptainsDrydock  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Daniel :) That's correct, the top fan blows cool air over the fins just like an air cool motorbike engine. And the rear fan blows air through the compressor where it exits through the vent holes you can see in the bottom.

    Hi thanks, for the video. Do you have a link for the on off switch please ? I can’t find him

      You can use any 'rocker/toggle' switch. Here's a link to something similar I used...

      The one has the switched on the cover removed for the fan. Probably then fan can go on top of the piston
