- This time I have filmed a full naked carbon fiber Koenigsegg Regera on the drag strip! You will hear the crazy acceleration sound (and yes with no gearbox sound!) And you see it drag racing against a Koenigsegg Agera X! I hope you enjoy the video!

@@HyperVanilo I'm not comparing it to the Chiron though. You are sayings it's slow I dont think 0 to 60 in 2.8 seconds is slow. With a CVT there is no loss of power through gear changes it just adjusts the ratio as you go along. There is nothing slow about that car.
1800Hp and 1420Kg of weight on a Hybrid ...that’s insane. And every car news celebrate the 2tons tank by Bugatti. That’s not fair. This is a unbelievable masterpiece, go on koenigsegg, show them what’s really innovative 👍

Bro the agera had a bad start because it would smoke regera in a drag race, regera has 1 gear, so at the start it has low rpm and low acceleration, u see the agera was still dragging
This is so genius. It looks like the motor stays at low rpms during acceleration with the help of the electric motor and then the combustion engine really kicks in later. 0-100 the engine is hardly trying
The best part? He isn't launching, just blasting off idle.
With electric and traction control he doesn't need to add the power from the V8 until well down the track. Its on the edge of tire spin the whole way. BTW, he stole this idea from my moped + ebike hybrid. You're welcome, Mr K.

The pure carbon fiber body and details are so amazing, what an excellent piece of engineering and design
Imagine how powerful are those machines in order for you to still hear them loud and clear in such a distance
Exhausts can work wonders. They're like amplifiers. You can hear an average Honda Civic Type R from like 5 km away.

Three electric motors paired with a torque converter. I think the maximum torque multiplication on that thing is around 2.5×, but don't quote me on that.
It does not have one gear. It has a fluid transmission. Effectively an infinite number of gears.

It uses direct drive
7th gear but the electric motor helps with acceleration
Inboard electric motors on the axles assist with acceleration.

A lot of people hate the regera biohazard rims, but i personally think they look awesome. It fits the car.

Nope, no reverse gear. Regera uses the electric motors at low speed, including for it's reverse
Oke, i was wrong, but the diff works as some sort of a transmission and is adapted to a torque converter.

I love all these crazy hypercars and supercars for the most part but there has always been something about koenigsegg's that I've just found....amazing
The Regera really didn’t get as much attention having been sandwiched in between the most awesome iterations of the Agera RS, One:1 and the new Jesko and Gemera. The gear-less transmission in the Regera is also kinda odd and leaves something to be desired in the sound of those accelerations runs. Normally you’d hear the transmission banging through gears with crackles and overrun. Anyway, it definitely looks better in this exposed carbon fiber vs the burgundy pain it was normally shown in.

Two small fish-fin exhausts and a large battery exhaust. Nice.
It's a massively beefed up Chevrolet Powerglide with 3 electric motors and a torque converter that can handle 2000 Nm of torque and slip to 5000 rpm before locking up. There's this awesome old school video explaining exactly how it worked then.

The way the camera follows the car as it weaves through other parked cars and the crowd of people is like how cameras follow the protagonist of a movie as they're being introduced. Quite appropriate, given that it's a frickin Koenigsegg.

Wow the Koenigsegg Regera and a I saw a Pagani Huyura, IMO those are 2 of the best boutique Hyper cars on the market today! Also you can see that the Regera was built in the old airforce building because it has the Ghost on the back!

I was introduced to this car by Forza Horizon 4. It was one of the first cars I won in a Wheelspin, and the first hypercar that I drove in-game. I had heard of Koenigsegg, but not the Regera.
I was instantly amazed and totally fell in love with the vehicle. The second that I hit 100mph and noticed I hadn't shifted gears and my RPMs were hovering around 4k, I knew I was driving something special. When I topped out at 200+ still in first gear, I instantly paused the game and went online to find out as much as I could about this marvel of mechanical engineering. Shame that there are only 80 of them in the world (unless someone has totaled one or two). People can keep their Lambo's and their Rarri's and their McLarens, my dream hypercar is a Koenigsegg Regera.

@1:35 Judging by the time it took for the lockup clutch to engage from the sound, I say he hit 270 kmph in 10 sec without launch, just blasting from idle.
That's a very reasonable time. The regera did 0-400-0 in 31 seconds
28.6s as on date. Actually if you noticed from the back there's a Doppler effect in the sound that makes it look like it's going the same rpm. It isn't.
