    Good video Nick, Back when I lived in Jersey i had a set of boot foot Redballs for surf fishing and a set of Flyweight stocking foot waders with Korkers Cross current boots for trout fishing. I still have both sets. Redballs are 30 years old.

    These are my favorite boots. I use the triple threat carbide spikes in the water and the kling-on for the walk in. Darn near perfect to me. They run a size bigger so keep that in mind.

    I always wore old work boots. Till I ended up slipping unintended into the water and the one day taking a nasty fall while wading a steep bank. Got a pair of Sims the next day.
    Still recovering a year later, getting old😂

    love the river muck... around here not much rock in the rivers mainly sand, mud, and some giant cement chunks for stopping bank erosion. main problem is when youre walking and you take a step and sink up to your knee or go sliding across muck. I havent had to use spikes on my boots in a long time since we dont get ice on the water anymore. and the boa laces just become a nightmare here to because of fine sand constantly kicked up by the current.

    Spot on evaluation. Im on my 4th year with them. Terrific for streams rocks and backbay, NOT for surf but imo no stockingfoot is.

    Howdy Brougham, I been in Patagucci's and Chota's since the late 90's. I sold Pataguch in CO. They will warranty gear forever. highly recommend both. Best Gravel Grinders I ever used.

      When the chotas became popular I started down my rabbit hole of korkers....Had a few friends who had the chota steelheaders (i think) they didn't like the salt as much as others....My korkers outsols (the part glued to the boot that accepted the outsold) fell off on a pair...and the clip in soles popped off many times on another.....These have been a truly great boot.

    I’m may have missed it in your video, but are these sized to fit the waders or is it necessary to order a size larger?

    i used Simms Vapor thread Saltwater, i loved the design of the padding inside it barely retian any water ( doesnt weight you down as much and much stronger ankle support i think :)

    Hey my question is this boot a good option for cold weather fishing? Like when there is ice in the guides of your fly rod cold. I fish here in New Brunswick Canada up until the end of October and it can get cold.

      Awesome!...I used too cut school and head up north to target them back in the day....Every new years...right after the ball would drop we'd drive 5hr north to target em...

    What waders do you use? And how have they been holding up?

      Right now..Redington sonic pro HDZ.....They aren't as breathable as LL bean zip fronts...but heavier material...Aside from the bootie issue due to the inside of these boots being abrasive due to wear...they've been rock solid....bought them on an open box amazon deal for 200$......gave up on ll beans after wearing them out constantly....

    Wish we had good rivers here in North Texas! I miss wading rivers on fishing trips as a kid.

      One of the reasons I wont move from jerz....I'd be down by Elias V but it's a choice...fw or salt....3hrs between....and alligators...I fish at night often...messing with beavers is one thing....gators...completely differeent ballgame

    I had those for a lot of years I loved the no tie shoe laces boa system but like him the loosened a lot I recently got new korker with out the boa system and I put shock coard laces and I honestly would pay more for those then I would for the boa system if u have boots with regular laces and you hate tiring them go on eBay get some shock coard for laces trust me you will never be happier and they don’t loosen up either just get a good pinch close slider

    I've been very pleased with my pair of korkers, cheapest model they have been using them for 4 years about 20 times a year have 4 different sole options, for some of the mud traction I have found the vibram with carbide since they have a deeper tread to be my default. But I do fish some faster moving rivers with greasy rocks and the newer larger screw on carbide spikes with some tread, (not the older flat bottoms with the larger carbide) are the best for me. I like the idea of more ankle mobility since the two times I've fallen it was due to me not being able to turn my foot so the carbide could grab and the rubber slipped down luckily both times it was summer. In that phase where I kind of want my pair to fail so I have an excuse to upgrade them 😂.

    I was looking for shoes like this for jetty fishing. Any recommendations guys? My local jetty is mostly jagged rocks mixed with concert.

    I will put money on it u will love shock coard as shoe laces way more then the boa system you ruffly cut the shock coard half the length of ur normal laces and ur good to go they always keep ur boots tight but loose enough to get good contact with the bottom I would have never ever thought that would make this much of a difference but it really does spend a few buck literally 3 bucks buy shock coard and try it u will love it

    Thoughts on the alphas air tw or Steez air tw? Do you think the Steez air is worth the extra money?

    • @TackleAdvisors
      @TackleAdvisors  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was impressed at the casting of the alphas air... I really like the aldebaran..stock spool it throws everything I need.. Bass to 6lbs no probs . Check hobie Wan kanobies review.. I think he spent some time on the Steez.

      I will not give any press good or bad to that company after their rep Shane at the bass master classic was a complete dick.. Even the dude holding the camera asked him why he was being such a dick... Then he pulled the whole I don't give you permission to post anything with me in it... And wouldn't go away when I asked him to and to stop harassing us... Plus

    How much weight each boot?

  • @robg836
    @robg836 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Less is more with wading boots IMHO. I've used my Buckskins pretty hard in the past year in the salt water on the rocky North Shore and the sandy South Shore of Long Island and they held up great. I've heard nothing but negative reviews of the BOA system.

      @@TackleAdvisors on sale right now. I'm thinking early Memorial day sale? I recommend also getting the triple threat omnitrax soles. You can mix and match carbide / aluminum hex/ aluminum bars for traction.
