Girls and women joining forces in Cox’s Bazar

Girls living in the makeshift settlements in Cox’s Bazar are at high risk of sexual violence and trafficking. They are determined to stick together, and women from the surrounding local communities are joining forces to support them.
A new mechanism implemented by BRAC pairs the groups together. Through a 12-session- programme, the sexual gender based violence protection volunteers are given tips and advice on how to keep themselves safe. After each course, they pass on the skills to groups of girls in the settlements and the girls then share the messages with their friends.
