  • In this video, I show you how to interpret your own Kardia recordings. The Kardia app allows people to record a single lead ECG on their smart phone and is FDA approved for detection of AF.Unfortunately it can also cause people a tonne of anxiety because they don't know how to interpret the results. It can be bought on amazon - here is the link: amzn.to/2zfgdtL

    Hello Sir, I'm from India and currently pursuing MBBS. The way you explain things is much more relevant than just reading books. I find your videos very useful. Please keep on sharing your knowledge as I also plan of doing cardiology in future. Thankyou 😇

    This is awesome! I just got one of these and so far my tachycardia is a very regular rhythm. Except sometimes I see what looks like occasional PACs or PVCs, which I’m assuming are just harmless ectopic beats. But I’m not a doctor so if you have time to show what those look like on Kardia, that would be great!

    I suffer from bradycardia and use this device (Kardia Mobile 6L) along with my watch and digital BP monitor, all of which detect bradycardia as low as 39 bpm on average 46 bpm. My primary physician referred me to cardiologist who stated I indeed have Bradycardia. This device along with other devices were paramount in detecting what normal visits to my physician did not. As we all know sometimes symptoms do not always occur when you need them to such as during a visit to your physicians office. White coat syndrome.

    First of all, can someone guide me to the right way of joining Dr. Sanjay's whatsapp broadcast?
    Dr. Sanjay since i found your channel on youtube my life has dramatically changed to the better, i now understand more about my case and this understanding has helped me with my fear and anxiety, which has reflected on a better state of mind and body.
    You are the best cardiologist i know even though i have never met you in person, but i have seen more than a couple of dozen cardiologists, and none had your empathy, drive, knowledge, or even care of helping others like you do...God bless you..

    You are such an amazing teacher...if at some point in time could you explain what artifacts are, why they appear and how to decrease them during a Kardia reading? Thanks for making these symptoms less frightening & more manageable.

    • @darkbluematter1753
      @darkbluematter1753 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Leone Rose the artifacts are usually from electrical interference from muscle contractions. A few tricks I’ve learned to decrease artifacts are make sure your arms are relaxed and still, do not move or talk during a reading, and if you can (ie you are wearing shorts or a dress), use the top of your leg, just above the knee, for one pad and two fingers for the other. The knee trick creates a really clear reading usually. My readings used to look like a scribble mess but they are much clearer now.

    If it is not afib, what is it called if the rate is going fast as shown here? Imagine the person is laying down and the rate is constant but elevated at 140-150bpm...consider their normal resting rate is 60bpm.

    I really hate to ask this but could you look at mine. I bought one of those pocket things second hand to check because I'm always out of breath. I would like to avoid going to the doctor if I can because it's expensive. I got like a double beat with mine although the app says nothing's abnormal. Doesn't exactly look like what you showed us.
    Or could anybody recommend one of those good services you mentioned.

    How can you tell from the readings if you have Tachycardia?

  • @costcostore7376
    @costcostore7376 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was thinking of purchasing it. I’m only curious if this device would detect things like WAP/MAT, ST elevations (not talking actual MI, but let’s say someone with pericarditis or early repo). Not asking whether it would interpret, since I can read it myself, but more important whether it would actually show on the app as you measure someone’s rhythm

    Why are you only promoting the Kardia 6 lead ECG? I have been looking on Amazon to purchase a home ECG monitor but was put off the Kardia because of registration and the additional expenses that it entails. Viewers could do with being given advice on a broader comparative look at the other monitors that are available too.

  • @WibbleOWibble
    @WibbleOWibble ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I am in AF but how does the Kardia calculate heart rate? I assumed it would count the total peaks (the 'R' peak in the QRS) in 30 seconds and double it. However if I manually count the peaks and double it I get a significantly different answer eg Kardia says 124bpm, manual count 98bpm!!! Have checked many traces with the same apparent error... WHY!?

    • @amusliminusa
      @amusliminusa ปีที่แล้ว

      I just got the 6L version of Kardia for my mom. I noticed an even larger difference between her manual pulse reader and what the Kardia stated. I don't understand why either.

      Do you get PVCs? I do and when this pattern showed on my ECG they said bigeminy or trigeminy depending on rate. I have since deteriorated to a-fib. Worth getting looked at if you haven't already.

  • @pressrepeat2000

    I wonder what a squiggly line in the ECG means? As while my Kardia doesn’t show AF (at least I haven’t been able to measure it when I feel a weird heartbeat) some of the beats (not all) have super-squiggly lines occasionally right after the QRS (before the T) or after the T. i haven’t been able to figure out what this super squiggly line means this implies? (And note that I use the Kardia smoothing function, and some beats are still super squiggly, only right after the QRS or after the T).
