I love the contrast between day and night. When you hear, "like a thief in the night..." You realize that for the sons of light and sons of the day, you know it's spiritual awareness and clarity and full sight of godly understanding. Our senses are renewed and full from the Holy Spirit, so the spiritual matters are strongly picked up in this reality now made open to us who are born of spiritual light. We see God's truth in Spirit and all His purposes through His will. So we do not have veils over our eyes nor over our minds. Now a thief coming in the night indicates those who are asleep. They are not awake, nor aware, nor mindful of securing their house and more pointedly, the points of entrance ( doors, windows, etc) for the children of darkness - eyes, hears, mind, hearts, mouth, hands of which are also filled in darkness because they use these senses to carry out foolish thinking. Therefore, they are both veiled and blinded by the devil - Satan to keep them from receiving the knowledge of God and the word of God fully unveils and reveals the radiance of salvation and redemption.
