Mother ducks that can't save their babies from a heron that likes to eat ducklings in breed seasons

  • A heron will eat ducklings to vary its food intake, but it must contend with attacking mother ducks that become distraught when the heron attacks and feeds on one duckling after another. The heron is regularly hunting and eating baby ducks throughout the duck breeding season to regulate its dietary needs. . The grey heron is a species of meat-eating predatory wading birds that live on and around water; they are waterbirds that don't swim but wade through the water. The heron is a hunting bird that uses its long, sharp beak to catch animals while silently and patiently stalking its intended prey; they are water waders with long legs traversing their aquatic dom. The heron attacks and feeds on other animals because they are carnivorous predators, top avian predators, and exceptional hunters of all kinds of prey animals that live and breed worldwide. Herons have an incredible instinct to attack and eat other animals. This type of feeding behavior has evolved over millions of years to enable them to have an extensive menu of wild protein-rich animal meat food. The herons are flying birds with a very diverse diet of meat from hunting and eating other animals. They especially like dining on water-based waterbirds, waterfowl baby birds, rats, rodents, other small mammals and birds and insects, and a wide variety of marine and aquatic creatures living in and around saltwater and freshwater. Food eaten without chewing is how the heron and all birds eat their food because they have no teeth for crushing, and dining on big or small portions by swallowing in gulps is how they feed. The heron can be seen actively hunting and eating animal babies throughout the breeding seasons, especially when they live and breed in the herons' natural habitats. Herons will hunt and eat smaller birds and bird babies, hatchlings, nestlings, and bird eggs, regularly raiding throughout the bird breeding seasons when the heron dines and eats. The herons are avians living and breeding in almost every habitat close to water throughout the world's coastal and inland waterways.

      @OpenGL4ever 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @Zyrawrcious
      There is no double standard.
      If a rat dies, this is good for pest control. Also humans do not eat rats, at least not if there are other things to eat.
      But humans do eat ducks.
      So the heron is poaching in humans food supply and this can't be tolerated. Thus the heron must die.

    • @postmortemarg
      @postmortemarg 8 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      It's called natural selection, buddy.
      Plus, any animal or organism can become a pest. By your logic, humans should also be considered pests and we should all die.

    • @goognamgoognw6637
      @goognamgoognw6637 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yet you're the ignorant idiot. The reason herons eats ducklings is because fishes populations have plummeted from our lakes and rivers when for hundred thousands of years before man polluted and drained rivers there were tons of fishes. Heron only adapted to human destruction. digesting a fish is by far easier for a predatory bird unless finding one takes so much energy that the choice changes. You are part of those human parasites who condone destruction of wild habitat.

    • @firespinguy
      @firespinguy 8 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      goognam goognws you are the ignorant idiot. Herons are opportunistic predators that always ate small animals whenever they could. There is no difference in digesting a fish or small mammal for a predatory bird, the stomach acids easily melts any organic material.

      have you any proof for this ridiculous statement? almost all predators are opportunistic hunters, meaning they'll eat everything they can get. why should fish be easier to digest than meat?

    its just this animal trying to survive by eating another animal, to all of you saying you would have stopped it, how would you feel if you were sitting there eating KFC and it was the first meal you had in a week, and a massive creature came and punching you many times and took it from you, and you starved to death? i just love how all of you people who hate on the camera man for not saving the duckling and dont look at it from both ways and instead instantly take the side of the cute animal, both are animals, both just want to live.

Here on this planet most animals eat each other and they don't have feelings of sadness, revenge, etc. We humans are special in that way and we can actually kill for pleasure. I don't think the rest of animals do that. They just eat to survive, or to help their offspring survive.
