It was released in August 1985 as the first single from Strait’s album "Something Special". The song reached number one on the country music charts in both the United States and Canada in 1985 and was named by CMT as one of the Top 100 country songs of all time.
Barry Oliver is a musician/singer/songwriter originally from Groton, NY, who resides in Zephyrhills, FL. He has performed at several music venues in the Zephyrhills area. Barry was elected to the New York State Country Music Hall Of Fame in 2019. With just a few exceptions, Barry's vocals were recorded LIVE; accompanied by background tracks.
