    I've been a hi-lift fan for years, and only in the last few discovered the lift mate. It's great, and I have one for my truck and my jeep. I've always made my own wide base, with cleats and pins or wing nuts to attach it to the jack. I use it a lot for recovery, and I carry a wagon tire and tube (no rim), so I can put it between the upright and the body if they're getting close. It works great.

    The Lift-Mate solves a long-standing dilemma. I never looked forward to trying to jack my pickup form the front or rear bumper since new bumpers are so flimsy and if you're stuck the bumper may already be in the mud.

    For switching or changing tires.....Wouldn't placing a jack stand under the front/rear axle off camber like that and lowering the weight of the Jeep cause the jack stand to slip?? Even if the jack stand was on a flat hard surface.

    Will it bend the metal on the wheel?

    Thanks to show that Lift-Mate must be secured on the lift hook with a screw. Too many videos can be seen where this screw is missing ! There is no risk to scratch the alloy wheels with this system ?

      Don't go offroad if you're trying not to scratch your wheel. Stay on pavement, and use a bottle jack under the axle if your lift has made the stock jack unusable. No, the lift mate has never scratched my wheel, but I wouldn't notice anyway because rocks and sticks and mud have scratched my wheel.

      The hooks are rubber coated.

    Does this accessory damage wheel finishes?

    • @hiliftjacks
      @hiliftjacks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not if used correctly. Make sure the rubber-coated hooks and pad are in good shape when using.

      Looking back since I'm a Millwright mechanic I made a secure lifter free to lift from the wheel and an wondering now about the orb. How useful is it snow?

    Does the Hi-Lift Lift-Mate work with the ARB Hydraulic Jack?

    Nice, but my new Hi Lift jack won't go down. Yes, I've tried all the suggestions by Hi Lift and others here on Ew Toob.

    How can you get those lug nuts off when blocked by the straps? You can't loosen the nuts once they are on a jack stand either.

    • @G55-j9z
      @G55-j9z 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You crack the lug nuts before you put the jack in place and then lift the vehicle.

    • @hiliftjacks
      @hiliftjacks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You'll need to block the load and take the Lift Mate off the wheel in order to be able to remove the tire for maintenance. Don't ever use the Hi-Lift to support the lifted load.
