I appreciate that you overcame your fear of crowded places in India. I imagine that many Westerners feel similarly overwhelmed at first, and a few may even experience panic attacks. For newcomers, the initial impression can often seem chaotic and messy. But as with any fear, exposure is key, the more one confronts it, the easier it becomes to manage. I don’t believe funding is the main reason for the way it appears. Though Bibi Ka Maqbara and the Taj Mahal in Agra have a similar appearance, the materials and level of craftsmanship involved in their construction were quite different. Indians need to let go of the habit of giving special attention to Westerners, such as constantly asking for selfies. This practice can unintentionally convey a sense of privilege to some Western visitors and can make us appear less confident in our own worth. While foreigners may look different, they are just like everyone else. Although it’s understandable to feel excited at the sight of someone from another country, we should respect their privacy and allow them to enjoy themselves freely, without focusing too much on their presence in crowded places. Foreign visitors are now common across the country, and encountering them isn’t the rarity it once was. If you have the time, consider adding Andhra Pradesh to your travel plans. There’s so much to explore, and it’s truly worth a visit.
