    Loving your channel. As a fellow Canadian that left for similar reasons, it IS very emotional...
    As you shared, that life long struggle in Canada would have been endless as they continued to devalue your energy... Now you have freedom. Who cares about the 1st to 3rd world categories!?

    Totally resonate with you on how I feel about Australia. It’s no longer my country, it is my outdoor prison. I ask anyone that the conversation allows; Do you think Australia has had its best times and is descending in life quality, or is it in ascendancy and getting better? They always answer the same. And then I ask them; Wouldn’t you rather be in a country that has a good firm foundation, that is not a 1st world economy yet, buy YOU could help it become one? Isn’t it better to be part of something that is improving, than something that is decaying?
    I truly hope to meet you both one day as you are in inspiration. Congratulations on making the leap.

    • @twopeopleinparadise
      @twopeopleinparadise  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We've had many similar conversations. "Would you rather be somewhere that's rapidly improving from a bad situation, or deteriorating just as rapidly from a good situation?"
      The distinction lies in their expectation for the future. If they believe this is just a momentary lapse, a brief authoritarian moment in an otherwise free and open society,, they cannot comprehend why anyone would move to Central America from an advanced G7 country. If on the other hand they evaluate current political, economic, and cultural trends in the context of civilizational history, they're much more amenable to the idea.

      Hi mark! Im from dominican republic, and im a trader on cryptocurrency from 2017, i love your country for the quality of life but I dont know about its law about tax on crypto,please could you tell me about it and why do you want leave your country?

    • @MarkOfBitcoin
      @MarkOfBitcoin 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@arodisdiaz5111 Hola! The taxation here is frightfully high and they treat crypto like every other asset: If you lose money on a trade, that's too bad. But if you make money on a trade, and you've kept that asset for less than 12 months, then they want a piece of the action at your nominal taxation rate. If you have kept that asset for more than 12 months, and then sell, the tax rate is discounted by 50%. The highest take rate in Australia is a little over 50%. So "trading" of crypto is just a ball-ache in this country. You have to keep such accurate records and they rape you at every step of the way.
      And that is part of the decision of wanting to move out of the country. I want to be able to use REAL money (Bitcoin) without worrying that me spending it on a coffee triggers a damn taxation event!
      This is not a land for free thinkers and entrepreneurs. It is an open-air prison for a large herd of sheep!

We lived in El Salvador , Santa Ana, with our two boys for about 4 years, going back and forth because of things just nowrking out for us. We just moved back again to El Salvador in February and we are not going back to Canada. I am looking for a call center job also, but not having any luck. I work in Washing DC, my nursing license was threatened because I refused to get the jab, I watched as they allowed thugs to burn and loot our city all while we were on lockdown and my kids schools were closed! I am exploring moving to EL Salvador! I remember their government had covid kits and encouraged health, while they encouraged drinking and lawlessness here🙄

      We recommend settling all debts before leaving Canada, as the CRA will continue to regard you as a "tax resident" if you keep such ties.
      The best way to transfer your funds is via Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a borderless asset. You can participate in the local banking system if you wish, but there are typically some hoops to jump through to get started, mostly to do with proving your trustworthiness to the bank in order to get transfer limits lifted.

      To the best of our knowledge, you need the following:
      1. An international health certificate dated within 72 hours of your flight
      2. Up-to-date vaccines, most importantly rabies
      We've heard customs inspects pets for obvious signs of disease before granting entry, but that this process is fairly simple and straightforward.

  • @hagbard72
    @hagbard72 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Couple of points, bitcoin can easily go to zero, you can lose it (happened to me once with bitcoin and once with bitcoin cash), and El Salvador is by no means a politically stable country. What are you going to do when there's a change of leadership and things go back to where they were?

    • @twopeopleinparadise
      @twopeopleinparadise  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Bitcoin Cash is not Bitcoin; it is a failed fork of Bitcoin. It and other alts could go to zero, and many will, but Bitcoin is an established commodity which isn't going anywhere. BlackRock is not in the business of betting on assets at risk of going to zero. Indeed the USD will go to zero long before Bitcoin does.
      El Salvador's political stability is greater than that of neighboring countries, and the current trajectory is positive. A political reversion could occur, but the likelihood is trending down. The opposite trend is occurring in Canada, where political stability--as well as cultural and social cohesion--are in a state of terrminal decline.

      It's great that you're thinking of making the leap. Happy to help!
      To answer your question, it all depends on what your specific needs are, and how adaptable you are.
      If you want to retain continuity of all the creature comforts that came from Canada's past success, you'll want to be in San Salvador, specifically in the Santa Tecla area, or Las Luces, parts of Zaragoza and surrounding area.
      If you want a more of a beach lifestyle, you'll be looking around the Surf City 1 region to start. San Blas is a really nice area with modern homes. As you go west toward El Zonte and beyond, or east toward Costa Del Sol, modern amenities become further and farther between.
      For a more mountain lifestyle, you're looking at places like Tamanique, Comasagua, Santa Ana, and Berlín. Amenities in these places are similarly fewer than San Salvador. It can be challenging to get certain things, especially if you don't have a car (we don't).
      If you are more adaptable and less attached to Canada's modern amenities and services, all of El Salvador becomes an option for you. In this respect it becomes more about climate. The rule of thumb here is beach = hot, mountains = cool.
      It ultimately depends on what kind of lifestyle you want to pursue, and what value you want to bring to the local economies and communities. If you have the means to take an exploratory visit, that's the best way to get answers to those questions.
      Over and above all that, if you're serious about moving to El Salvador, now is the time to start learning Spanish. It has been much more difficult that we anticipated, and while we are making progress we wish we had started much sooner.
