    These heaters are popular because they work great. I think the smoke is coming from the hot (very hot) exhaust pipe is burning some of the black rubber or something on the bottom of the floor.

      @@martysk8r I spilled a little diesel on the exhaust pipe when I finally got the fuel line free. It stopped smoking seconds later

    It’s an 8kw heater . It looks the same size as a 5 kw. What makes it an 8kw is not defined by its size. What makes it a 8kw is defined by the pump frequency, the burn chamber size, and the fan speed. To get 8kw, you’ll have go into advance settings on the controller and change the max pump frequency to 8k and the max fan speed to 4500. Look up TH-cam vids on how to access the advance settings menu on the controller. If you don’t do this, it will default to a 5 kw diesel heater.

      @@nthenet it’s good to know that there is another setting if we struggle to keep warm. Out of the box, this Hcalory is outperforming its predecessor and our back up all-in-one 8kw.

    Also, the burn chamber fresh air intake should be vented to outside as well. This is connected to the burn chamber. Exhaust could back up and come out of the intake pipe. And buy the way, you cannot smell or see carbon monoxide. Your pass out before you notice it so make sure you vent any connection to the burn chamber to the outside.

    I noticed the cabin fresh air intake is not hosed to the outside or the inside of your cabin. It should be connected/hosed to the outside as well, or you can connect it to the inside of your cabin. The way you have it set up now, if you have carbon monoxide leak, it’s going to get sucked into your cabin/house. One final comment I like to make about these diesel heaters - they are not designed to be installed inside. they are designed to be outside. The probability of a carbon monoxide leak is very high:The burn chamber is very leaky, the diesel spark plug is always loose and leaky, and the exhaust connections are very leaky. Thanks for the video - be safe.

      @@nthenet your concerns are valid which is why everyone should install a carbon monoxide alarm if they have a diesel heater. I might install a second one in the cabinet with the heater for extra safety.

      @ love you guys. I’m looking forward to seeing more videos. But still vent properly along with using extra carbon monoxide detectors. Be safe out there.

    • @nthenet
      @nthenet 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Carbon monoxide detectors only detect carbon monoxide. “Diesel exhaust” contains other deadly gases like nitrogen monoxide, which is also very deadly and carbon monoxide detectors won’t help. So please vent properly.

    The 8kw and the 5kw are the exact same size heater, the 2kw is smaller in size

      @@wallyk9188 i was trying to find the side x side comparison of the 2, 5, and 8kw. They all look to be a little longer than the one before it. But as long as I can squeeze more heat out when it’s freezing outside, I’m happy. What do you have?

      Ooh that might explain an issue I was having with the previous pump today…maybe. I had to to go ahead and install the wiring harness and pump that came with the Hcalory because the previous one quit on me this morning

    You just got hustled an 8Kw diesel heater is nothing more than a rebranded 5Kw heater. It does not put out anymore BTU's than your 5 Kw did. It's the beauty of deceptive marketing but you can believe what you want to believe! If you want to know more about diesel heaters check out John McK 47 series of YT video's he'll explain why 8Kw heaters don't exist, only 2 and 5Kw heaters.

      What are you using as your measurement standards and conversions to determine the difference between 2kw-5kw and 8kw? To be fair, an 8kw heater converts to approximately between 24,000 and 28,000 BTUs. I heat my home in Michigan with a 50,000 btu furnace. I believe it's to her advantage not to have a 24,000 btu heater in her small space. I'm still interested in the conversion method you used to distinguish the difference between a 5kw and 8kw heater. Looking forward to examining your mathematical conversion. Oh wait, are you just repeteating information that you heard from another TH-cam content creator? You really don't know if the information and criticism that you just laid on this young lady is true do you? I'm really looking forward to examining the formula and math you used to determine the difference between a 5kw and 8kw heater. It should indicate the octane multiplied by the amount of fuel being introduced to the system within a certain amount of time and fuel pressure and the Size of the fuel chamber and the amount of oxygen delivered to the system. Shame on you for putting this young lady down and telling her he got scammed. I have 6 diesel heaters and they all do exactly what I want them to do no matter the size. The young lady did a fine job installing her new heater and she has heat coming out if it. You don't even know the reason she got scammed, your just going by another TH-cam influencers information and trying to use their information to shame this young lady. There, how do you like that mr. Negativity 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

      @ thank you for that! Personally, I go by people’s reviews which is why I purchase currently popular brands. I’ve heard a lot about Hcalory this year. My favorite function so far is the temperature control. It’s pretty accurate in this model and can keep us at house temperature (70-75°) rather than the surface of the sun. Can’t wait for the temperature to drop next week so we can really experience it’s capabilities.
