Truely a great movie from the 60's, instrumentals ahead of their time, especially 'Rhythm and Greens' Bennett at his best. I will be turning 81 soon and still playing Shads music today. (Drummer) Who would have thought that would ever happen? not me that's for sure.
Not the biggest on Earth, but the biggest in the Universe. They were made forever. He is probably the biggest Shadows fan in Hungary. Attila Végh from the city of Pécs, I am 74 years old. Fan since 1962.
Pythonesque! British humor is the best. Wait for the King of Norway and Denmark, I laughed so hard with this kooky movie. Oct 14 is definitely a historic moment...❤
The comment there has always been three three main Shadows is unfair on John Rostill. He was integral to the group between 1964 &1967. As a bass player he gave The Shadows a more heavy sound and a better range of vocal harmony. They were the definitive Shadows lineup. For me he was among the great British bass guitar players alongside, Paul McCartney, John Entwistle and Peter Quaife.
Apparently John Rosstill was one of the very best bass players and a huge future awaited him. For some reason Hank had quite a dislike for him. I read the main reason of the shadows breaking up was due to much infighting although years later they got together but split for the same reason. I think Brian and Bruce got on very well.
It's difficult to imagine this down home short film attracted a wide audience yet who knows. Maybe at the time of the films release it did but right now the thing just looks silly, amateurish and hoaky. Perhaps they should have stayed with playing their electric guitars and drum set?
@@brucegibbins3792the film saw a limited release as it was used as a support film to Dirk Bogardes film King and Country which itself saw only limited success-the film may look amateurish but it was a lighthearted film and much in keeping with a lot of the "pop" films of the time
@@brucegibbins3792 It was always a bit silly, done on the cheap during a summer season at Great Yarmouth. But infantile humour was always part of the Shadows shtick. And the electric guitars do make an appearance at 27 minutes in.
There has always been 3 main Shadows members , Hank Marvin , Bruce Welch and Brian Bennett , there has a been a long line of other members that have come and gone
Hallo Phil, this was filmed on the beach of Winterton Ness, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England Some movie scenes are filmed at Caister Castle, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England and Burgh Castle, Butt Ln, Great Yarmouth
Of course nowadays it would have to be filmed in some exotic location on the other side of the world. I've followed the Shadows since they were formed with Cliff as the Drifters. I have never seen this film.
Hank Marvin was the Lead Guitar Player of the Shadows and his guitarplay made the Shadows Sound. In the movie he is always to see as one of the four Shads.... the one with the glasses! :-) This Channel is "Hank Marvin and the Shadows". Some Videos are just Hank Solo. Some are Hank with the shadows.

This was so much fun to watch The Shadows, showing their own take on some of the history of Britain

Ironico e delizioso!
So The Shadows had long hair before The Beatles?
This is a movie. They wear the clothes and Hair that fits to the age. If you watch and listen to the movie its plain to understand. ;-)
