the miasma is also suppost to kill any human who is anywhere near it. like sango, miroku, kagome (though she cheats with her arrows), even shippo for is effected by it for petes sake. bankotsu is stronger then that, he could have at least helped fight narakus minions while inuyash faught naraku -.-;

Naraku is not that type of enemy, that Bankotsu would have been able to handle. The miasma would have killed him.
