Hi Bjorn, I would not put a running inverter inside a box, it could easily overheat. In the best case it de-rates ( yes invertergate!!!) in the worst case you can actually cause a fire. This is true for any type of electrical stuff, they need a bit of airflow for cooling.
Totally agree! I drove my Model 3 350 miles yesterday and waited zero minutes for Supercharging. My first stop was an 8 minute stop for a bathroom break and snack purchase. I didn't wait on the car even one minute. My second stop was longer for food and by the time I was done eating I had 100 mile more range than I needed. Total Supercharger costs were under $10 USD.
I have very similar experiences with my MS 100D. Went to the mountains last week, 1100 km single way. We stopped only to combine Supercharging with eating. Car charged waaaay faster than we could eat. You actually lose less time than with an ICE car, because you just arrive, plug in and walk away to go and eat. With an ICE car you arrive, do the bank card thing, fill up, go find a parking space in one of those crazy busy highway petrol stations in France and by then you can only start to look for food. We drove in a very relaxed manner and got an average speed including charging of 91 km/h as well.
Wow, the Model 3 looks like it's designed for people like me. That is, people who want to bring half the contents of their home with them in the front seats!
Hi Björn. I am from Zurich and have watched a lot of your videos. I saw your car parked in Amsterdam!! 😀 I will get a Model 3 when they offer a tow hitch.
Maurizio you should not rely on supercharging for your daily charge. Get a parking space with power. It is so much more convenient. Greetings from Zurich :)
Keyfobs exist... they are just always sold out. I have one and like but most people don't like it because it doesn't do the walkaway lock like the Model S and X do.
There are grips on the inside of the 3’s trunk that I use to close it. It’s marginally more inconvenient than putting my hand on the exterior of the trunk since I have to use an underhand grip, but the hand stays clean and I don’t need to touch the paint.
Get the RPM Tesla Tailgate Closing Handle so you don't have to touch the paint and get your hands dirty, it's something i use every time after i got it.
I have a squirt bottle with ONR mixed. Nice for quick spot cleanings. That glossy finish on console gets so many micro scratches so eventually you'll want to wrap anyway. I use the hand grabs inside the trunk and pull down hard to slam it shut. Takes practice though :D Slagese lol
Plugsurfing should have workt on al local chargers (if you activate the rfid) but a ecotap or newmotion rfid is a lot cheaper and more reliable. 34 vs 37 cent per kw. Not as cheap as supercharging though
When you talk about the advantages you forget to mention that a fossil car does not have dog-mode for the dog. I think that is very good as well, right? Thank you for another great video!
1:00 - But there actually is a Model 3 Key FOB,. You can order one from Tesla. BTW - have you used that console 12V outlet much when the car is parked for extended periods? Some youtubers have reported error indications after trying to tap into the 12V always on circuitry for using devices whilst the car is parked, but maybe the console 12V outlet is OK for that?
the Allego local 11 and 22kwh are between .35 and .40 euro cent per KWH ... which is more than Super chargers ... it's kinda making me want to install a couple of chargers as you are making well over 2X the private price of electricity!
@@bjornnyland yes, 11kw and 22kw ... not kwh :) slow, but Vlaanderen (Flanders region) of Belgium is putting investment in slow chargers all over the place now ...

Haven't you made a video about Siri and Tesla once? I use the Remote S app and Siri with my Apple watch to open the frunk and - if needed - the chargeport. Takes a bit of time, but its imho more convenient than grabbing the phone each time.
Beware of the cable in the frunk with nothing covering the “open” button inside... I had the frunk pop open twice, while driving, because the cable had moved and pushed the button from inside...
Oh bjørn, it seems just a week ago my girlfriend and I were watching the video in which you crashed your m3 to a snow bank and I felt the horror and hoped it to never happen to me, , low and behold a week later as I’m making a U turn I had a similar scrape and crack
Hello, what are yout impressions for long drive on highway ? Seats confortable enough ? Sound in the cabin ? Suspension ? Pain in the back/neck or not ? Thanks for your feedback
You don't have supercharge anymore??? I thought I heard that Tesla grandfather those owner who has free supercharge from pervious car can transfer it to the current new car. Is it not?
What % are you at when you arrive and leave the supercharger? From the screen that said 205Wh/km I guess you're charging about 50kWh at each stop? I'm guessing winter might still work with 2 stops to Copenhagen?
Even the SR Plus is good enough because it's more efficient than my Performance. And the supercharger network is so good that you can still get around Europe. You might not be able to skip 2-3 superchargers like I do. But at least you should be able to drive 1.5-2 hours between the stops.
@@bjornnyland The guy has a Smart. It can charge at max 4.6kW. So if the fast stall is 22kW, he can charge at 4.6kW there. Assuming the other stalls are 11kW, that would be 3.7kW for him. You have a Tesla. You can draw the full 11kW from one of the slower stalls.
Very much enjoy your posts. Especially the trips around Norway and reviews of EVs. Really impressed that you are still alive given you call your wife “wifey”. My head would be on a pike at traitors gate.
Did you ever get more than 90 kW supercharging speed? My maximum is 90. Even at low soc (15%, 25%). After two hours of highway the battery should be warm enough. Ionity chargers deliver 120 kW instantly. What could the reason be?
@Bjørn Nyland How many Kms of range @150Km/h in winter? Would it be possible to cover 500 Km starting with a full (100%) charge down to 10%, then charging to 70% and finally discharging to 10% again? All in highway at 150Km/h during winter. Basically it would be possible only if it doesn't consume more than 220 Wh/Km (@150Km/h in winter), but I highly doubt that.

Supercharger network just doesn't leave a chance to any other EV out there and this domination will be still there for years.
Kudos to you sir for freeing up the charger at 6 in the morning!
I had to pop a can of Red Bull that day. But I didn't want to block the charging spot. And the sign said max 4 hours.

Once you can draw 250kW there will be almost zero inconvenience compared to fossil cars.

You should use both hands when closing the frunk; one hand slightly to each side of the middle - it's mentioned in the owner's manual.

Keukenhof has chargers right in front of the main entrance. You usually need to ask for it when you enter the parking area
