I am very sensitive to fragrances ! For example I can’t stay in the same room where someone is wearing 1 million for example ! Any strong fragrance causes me headaches! The two strong fragrances that I can tolerate without headaches and I LOVE THEM are Sauvage And A men! AMen in my opinion is the most amazing fragrance ever honestly! The only 3 fragrances I use are Amen( winter and clubs) bleu de chanel ( summer or dates) and sauvage for every day every where ! Everytime I wear Amen , I get TONS of compliments
short and sweet video. i kinda expected, that you won't be blown. i do like the perfume (yes, the new version too), but indeed, the female version (also perfectly fine on men) is better put together. i see what you mean by the a*men smelling a bit "messy".
This was THE scent if you wanted to be noticed in a club in the late 90s and early 00s, and if you didn’t want to go for Le Male. I remember it being unapologetically loud and artistically obnoxious. I cannot imagine being indifferent to it. And I admit that I emptied two or three bottles of it 😂.
That dirtiness is what gave the scent character! Incidentally, my first impressions were not great either. Thought it smelled like an explosion at a Japanese cotton candy and anime factory. 😂 Chaotic is a perfect descriptor. Instantly hated it. And this was in the height of summer if I recall correctly. But since I couldn't scrub it off, I left it on and within an hour it blew my mind. 🤯 Complete 180. Didn't even know what a gourmand was at the time, but suddenly I couldn't get enough of it. Been obsessed ever since. Unfortunately, I did get to wear the L'Oreal/Mugler formulation and it's not quite the same. Much cleaner and far less robust. So the "Thierry Mugler" signature bottles are the ones to go for. Always will be an icon for me. 💙⭐
Well, I would actually be curious to smell it on a man, not necesarily on myslef up close. It definitely has a distinct character. I keep hearing that the reformulation is not the same.
@@pixieandthenotes I remember my vintage gift set coming with a couple of shower gels and the new stuff smells far more like them. Retains the sweet backbone, but the nasal "frequency" is just higher if you know what I mean. Even Cuba's original Prestige is more satisfying to my nose. 😆 One to layer with at least.
Perfumy od których zaczęło się moje hobby :D Szkoda, że nie miałaś okazji poznać pierwotnej wersji - była znacznie bardziej złożona. A*Men stały się moim zdaniem trochę nijakie na przestrzeni lat. Obecnie odbieram je głównie jako tonę karmelu :D
Oczywiście biorę poprawkę na to, że zapach przeszedł szereg zmian przez te wszystkie lata. Ja zdecydowanie nie jestem fanką łączenia męskich nut aromatycznych z gourmandowymi. W mojej głowie to się jakoś nie łączy. Ale przyznaję, bardzo chętnie poznałabym starą wersję. Ja nie czuję tak dużo karmelu, dla mnie za to wybija się lawenda, może dlatego, że pasuje mi tu jak kwiatek do kożucha.
Ok but is it vintage or modern? IFRA regulations changed fragrances forever in late 00s. Clarify this quirk if you want your fragrance opinions taken seriously. Original (brownish gray juice) was quite polarizing and niche quality. Original opening smelled like the most fragrant lifelife candy apple ive ever smelled. Base is weird but that opening is out of this world.

Swego czasu posiadałem wersję spod szyldu Thierry Mugler z 2003 roku (zielony sok we flakonie). Siekiera bez porównania z niczym innym. 3 psiknięcia w mroźny dzień to było absolutne maksimum. Trzymał spokojnie przez 14 godzin. Nowy A*Men Mugler pachnie ładnie ale trwałość i projekcja to jakiś żart.
I tried it today with the intention of purchasing it because of all the good reviews I saw. And it felt to me that this is how death smells like. Never knew a fragrance could be this repulsive. Couldn't wait to wash it off.

Well, I am curious how I would pereceive it if i simply smelled the sillage on someone. I could enjoy it if I didn't have to analyse it up close.

I sometimes spray it on a piece of paper and smell it from time to time ! It’s amazing

This one is definitely not a safe blind buy. But I get more of what you describe in the classic female version of Angel.
Yeah, I too am not a fan of the original A*Men...that tar accord just kicked me in the teeth for the first 2-3 hours.
A bit relieved that I am not the only "hater" 😅
