- Bentos (弁当) are single-portion take-out or a home-packed meal common in Japanese cuisine. A traditional bento box includes rice or noodles, fish or meat, with pickled & cooked vegetables. Containers range from disposable mass-produced to hand-crafted lacquerware. Bentos are readily available at many places throughout Japan, including convenience stores, bento shops (弁当屋 bentō-ya), train stations, & department stores. However, Japanese homemakers often spend time & energy making bentos for their spouse, children, or themselves. You gotta love Japan!

We do in Hawaii. I hear some California bentos are great. Just do an internet search for your state.
There is a store call Tokyo Central that sells bentos, sushi, everything and anything Japanese. Daifuku is my absolute favorite! 🤗

Deep color? They grill it over charcoal. It is magnificent!
what is the point of opening the new pack of chopsticks? Again and again when you can just use the previous one with new box ...
If I was at his place I will better save to chopsticks which come with other boxes for future use.

Eric do to food allergies and not eating beef, pork, duck or any game animal are there just vegetable Bento boxes?
I would have said he does it because in order to enjoy all the different food that you don't want the residue of the last food altering the flavor of the next food.

Some people commented that this guy talks and eats pretty fast. I like to think of at as if he has been in the military. If anyone has been through basic training aka boot camp then they'd know that they have trainees on serious time hacks. I'm talking 10-15 minutes of eating. I've been through basic plus I'm a college student so I can understand being in a rush to eat.

You can get Bento here in the states. Speciality stores carry them though, check your nearest "little asian" area aka populated mainly by the culture. I'm able to get them where I live. Even Kemchi (homemade)

I live in the country about 50 miles from Louisville, Kentucky. There is a small town 22 miles away that has a Japanese restaurant that serves Bento Boxes. I take them home and microwave them... don't like cold food.

@@ashweezy1192 -- The Japanese restaurant is in Corydon, Indiana. That's about 23 miles from my town which borders the Kentucky side of the Ohio River. The restaurant is in the same plaza as Walmart. So from Elizabethtown to Corydon it is approximately 75 miles.

Japanese Bento boxes are a visual meal as well as culinary delight. Eric, my favorite part of today's vlog was the expression of surprised delight when you bit into the raw squid rice....you didn't even need words. We all knew you had found treasure.
