What size bead and where did you get it from that you used to put over the shank of the hook between the hook and body? Can’t seem to find ones that are big enough.
I’m sure both would work, I just used the work lights I had and worked just fine. Are you running a generator? There are some good insights in the light setups on the facebook group pages
Tides really dont play as major of a factor as one would think. It all comes down to having your line in the water when the squid come thru. Have caught them on -2 tides at 9 am and on +13 tides at 8 pm and most in between

Anywhere from 6-10mm is what I usually do. Glow always, sometimes UV can be good too
I heard from the grapevine that there are Humboldt squid in Vancouver. But, do you know if there are any spots in Bellingham?
Humboldt's have been caught south of deception Pass on Whidbey.
